It's a big week for APSD Athletics as the Lady Badger basketball team will play in the 4A South Regional, the AHS soccer teams kick of the season with a scrimmage and the AHS swim/dive teams will have representatives in the State Swim/Dive Championship meet this weekend.

THE LADY BADGERS QUALIFIED FOR THE 4A SOUTH REGIONAL at last week's 4A-7 District Tournament. After a win in the first round, the Lady Badgers dropped a tough two-point decision to Malvern in the semifinals and earned the fourth seed from the 4A-7 with a loss to host Nashville in the consolation game Saturday.

The draw couldn't be much tougher for the Lady Badgers as they draw perennial 4A girls' basketball powerhouse Star City in Wednesday's first-round game. The Lady Bulldogs are
26-2 on the season and ranked No. 2 in the state in 4A girls in the most recent Super Six poll put together by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The winner of the game qualifies for the 4A State Tournament and will play in Friday's semifinal and in either the championship or consolation game Saturday.

THE AHS SWIM/DIVE TEAM WILL COMPETE THIS WEEKEND in the 1A-5A State Swimming and Diving Championships in Bentonville. The Badgers will be represented in two relays as well as in two individual events by William Matthews. Taylor Savage will compete in the one-meter diving competition and Kayla Thompson could also make the field on the girls' side. The official field will be released by the AAA on the 21st, so be on the lookout for more information as to who will compete for AHS later this week.
