Dear Parents/Guardians of AHS students,

We are now closed at the guidance of the Governor, Arkansas Department of Education and the Arkansas Department of Health.  During this time, deep cleaning and sanitization will take place.  Only the custodians and principals will be on campus.  The campus will be closed to all other staff and students.  Your students were given instructions in their Advisory groups on Friday of what to do in the event we closed.  That meeting was also followed up in an email from me. Please make sure your student is checking Echo daily this week and completing assignments that their teachers post there.  Their daily logins and assignment completion will be used for attendance and academic credit.  This is the last week of the grading period, so all assignments due this week need to be completed this week. They also need to check their school email daily for communication from AHS faculty/staff.  Next week, March 23-27 is Spring Break, so they are not expected to do assignments during that time.

If your student does not have access to internet and did not receive paper copies of assignments on Friday, please email us so other arrangements can be made.

Due to the immediate closing, we recognize that you may need mid-day medication that we have in the office for your student(s).  The nurse will be available in the AHS office from 11 - 1 today for you to come pick that up if needed.

If you are on Facebook, "like" the Arkadelphia Public Schools and the Arkadelphia High School pages for ongoing communication.  Updates will also be posted on the district website at arkadelphiaschools.org

As of right now, we are not scheduled to re-open until Monday, March 30th, after Spring Break. If that changes, we will communicate with you as soon as we know.

Stay well!
