Lady Badgers Open Regional Play Tonight vs. Warren

The Arkadelphia Lady Badgers play in the first round of the 4A South Regional Tournament tonight at 7:00 vs. the Warren Ladyjacks at Monticello High School.

The winner will advance to the Regional semifinal on Friday and more importantly qualify for next week's 4A State Tournament in Brookland. The season comes to an end for the losers of the first round games at Regional Tournaments.

The Lady Badgers advanced to their second straight Regional after last week's 3rd-place finish at the 4A-7 District Tournament at Joe T. Robinson. Arkadelphia opened the tourney and qualified for the Regional with a 37-35 win over the Nashville Scrapperettes in round one.

In the semifinals, the Lady Badgers were neck and neck with the Ashdown Pantherettes, leading by one point with just under two minutes to go. After Ashdown capitalized on a couple of Lady Badger turnovers, the Pantherettes closed out the 44-38 win at the free throw line down the stretch.

The Lady Badgers bounced back on Saturday in the consolation round with a solid 57-42 win over the Mena Ladycats, earning the third seed from the 4A-7 in this week's tournament.

The Warren Ladyjacks are the second seed from the 4A-8 after losing to Monticello in the championship game of last week's 4A-8 district Tournament. Warren comes into the game with a solid 24-5 record.

Tipoff for the game is set for 7:00 and will follow the boys' Regional first round game between Warren and Joe T. Robinson. The complete bracket is shown below.
