Post-season play is now here for the Arkadelphia softball and baseball teams as both teams will open 4A-7 District tournament play Thursday.
The Lady Badgers will play the Mena Ladycats Thursday morning at 10:0 am at Morrison Park in Malvern and the Badgers will face the Nashville Scrappers at 1:30 pm at Joe T. Robinson High School in Little Rock,
Both games can be heard locally on the radio on 100.9 FM and 106.9 FM in Arkadelphia. Chris Babb will provide play by play for the Lady Badger softball game in Malvern and Blake Bell will handle the broadcast duties for the Badger baseball team in Little Rock. Air time for both games will be approximately 15 minutes before the respective first pitches.
All 8 teams in each tournament face a "win or go home" scenario Thursday. The first-round winners will advance to Friday semifinals and Saturday's championship or consolation games, but more importantly a Thursday win will secure a berth in next week's 4A South Regional tournament in Malvern.
Brackets for each tournament are pictured below. The original baseball bracket pictured below had first round games being played on Wednesday, but all games were pushed back one day due to rain in LR on Wednesday.
