GOZA MIDDLE SCHOOL TO HOST "PARENTS DAY" DURING AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK
Goza Middle School will host "Parents Day" on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, during the National Education Association's 97th annual American Education Week celebration taking place November 12—16, 2018. Parents/Guardians are invited into the school and classrooms for a hands-on experience of what the day is like for their children. Lunch will also be provided at no charge to the parents who can join us. Parents are encouraged to come by for any amount of time they have available. They should check in at the office to sign in and obtain a schedule.
Goza's Parents Day is part of a nationwide effort to draw attention to American Education Week's tagline, "Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility." The tagline represents NEA's vision of calling upon all Americans to do their part in making public schools great for every child so that they can grow and achieve in the 21st century.
Parents Day helps emphasize the important role parental involvement plays in a child's education. Ongoing research shows that parental involvement in schools improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism, and restores confidence among parents in their children's education.
