The Arkadelphia Badger 8th and 9th grade football teams will wrap up their respective seasons Thursday evening when they host the Nashville Scrappers at AllCare Field at Badger Stadium. The 8th grade will kick off at 5:30 and the 9th grade game will begin at approximately 7:00.

Both teams have enjoyed recent success as the 8th grade is on a four-game win streak and the 9th graders have won five straight. The Badger 9th graders, under the directions of head coach Trent Smith enter the game with an overall record of 6-2-1

The 9th grade game between Arkadelphia and Nashville will be for the 4A-7 Junior District championship as both teams enter the game with a 4-0 conference record. The Scrappers have won 38 9th

grade football games in a row covering several seasons.

“We hope several of the fans that usually come support the Badgers on Friday nights will come Thursday night to support our young men who will be playing for a conference championship,” said APSD Athletic Director Chris Babb. “We’re expecting a great fall night and these kids would love the support from the community. It will also give you a chance to see some of the talent coming up through the junior high program that will be playing on Friday nights next year.”

Admission to the game is $5.
