The Goza Middle School 6th Grade Quiz Bowl Team took first place at the Murfreesboro Elementary Quiz Bowl Tournament on February 25, 2016. 16 teams competed in the invitational tournament with Goza 6th Grade posting eight game wins. The Goza 6th Grade Quiz Bowl Team members include: Joshua Levar, Colin Phillips, Kyle Matocha, Colson McKinney, Tucker Johnson, Anderson Jones, Noah Kelly, Matthew Porter, Spencer Allen, Kelsey Coventry, John Schaefer, Merilee Parker, Jarrett Bell and Landon Kuhn. The 7th Grade Quiz Bowl Team took third place at the Murfreesboro 7th Grade Quiz Bowl Tournament on February 26, 2016. 10 teams competed in the invitational tournament. The Goza Middle School 8th Grade Quiz Bowl Team took second place honors at AGQBA 4A Jr. High State Finals at Morrilton, Ark. on February 27, 2016. Nine schools competed in their division with the Goza team advancing to the championship round. Also, by virtue of outstanding play at the state finals, Patrick Hayes was named to the State Finals All-Tournament Team. He will be eligible to play at the All-Tournament Team Championship in May. The Goza 8th Grade Quiz Bowl Team members include: Sydney Motl, Cannon Turner, Cole Turner, Patrick Hayes, Cabb Batson, Lunden Cotton, Ian Manning, Yebo Moya, Caleb Cornelius, Alex Carter, Lucas Witherspoon, Malcolm Turner and Wyatt Forthman.
