The Arkadelphia Public Schools Board of Education appointed Gina White to fill the Zone 7 vacancy. The board considered letters of interest from multiple candidates during their March regular meeting, and followed up by interviewing candidates during a special meeting held on April 2.
White, a native of Arkadelphia and 1993 graduate of Arkadelphia High School, will serve the remainder of Terri King’s term, which will be up for reelection in September. White holds degrees from Henderson State University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law. She is a partner in the Arkadelphia based law firm Wright, Berry & White, PLLC, and she and her husband have one child in the APS District. White is an active volunteer within APS, and also teaches a criminal law class through the Dawson Education Cooperative.
White says her six years of teaching experience have been the “highlight” of her career.
“I have fully embraced new forms of technology and teaching curriculum to students in nontraditional formats,” White said in her letter expressing interest in the vacancy. “I would like to make the District the best it can be for all of the children currently enrolled and those that are yet to come.”
