We return back from the Thanksgiving break ready to get back in full swing with athletic contests as we prepare for the end of the semester, which will be here before we know it.

There are lots of home basketball games, so the next time you come to a game, ask about a basketball season pass for yourself or a Junior Badger pass for your child from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Save money while you support the Badgers during winter and spring sports seasons.

OUR VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAMS are participating in their yearly post-Thanksgiving tournament in Fordyce. The Badgers opened the tournament with a win over Camden Harmony Grove and the Lady Badgers open on Monday afternoon at 4:00 with Parkers Chapel. The second round games for the winners are on Thursday while the second round game for the losers of first-round games are on Wednesday.

With their win on Saturday, the Badgers will face Dollarway on Thursday in the winner's bracket semifinals. The second round game for the Lady Badgers will be set after Monday's game with Parker's Chapel. Both teams will return to Fordyce Saturday for the final round.

ALSO THIS WEEK FOR VARSITY BASKETBALL are two 3A/4A-8 games against Bismarck and Haskell Harmony Grove. A busy week for basketball as the season heats up. A reminder that 3A/4A-8 games do not count for the Badgers for post-season seeding for the 4A-7 district Tournament, but may count for other schools depending upon how other conferences are seeding their respective district tournaments.

JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL hosts Nashville on Monday and travels to Malvern on Thursday. The junior high nights will feature two 8th-grade games that will consist of two running clock halves followed by the 9th-grade games.

SWIMMING AND CHEERLEADING ALSO RETURN TO ACTION this week as the swimming and diving teams travel to Bryant and the AHS cheer squad has another competition in advance of its State Championship competition in December.
