2021 AHS COMMENCEMENT 

Arkadelphia High School will graduate 115 seniors Saturday, May 15 at Arkadelphia High School in Badger Stadium. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 am. 

The Summa Cum Laude speech will be given by Maegan Ashley Cooper. Cooper is the daughter of Hope Mitchell and Stanley Cooper. She attends St. Paul AME Church in Arkadelphia where she is a member of the youth group. Cooper is a member of the Lady Badger basketball team. She is a member of the Beta Club, Spanish Club, Future Business Leaders of America, the National Honor Society and is the AHS Senior Class Secretary.  The seniors chose Steve Patterson, English Teacher, to deliver the faculty challenge, which will be responded to by 2020-21 Student Council President, Caroline Margaret Bennington. 

Summa cum laude graduates have earned a GPA of 4.001 or better and a composite ACT score of 21 or better with no sub scores lower than 19. Summa cum laude graduates at the time of publication include the following: Caroline Margaret Bennington, Rachel Nicole Bosley, Maegan Ashley Cooper, GraceAnn Claire Covington, Carson Speed Craft, Danny Vartanian Curl, Taylor Madison Dunkelgod, Kyla MacKenzie Elgas, Kennady Taylor Garrett, Lily Grace Kesterson, Haylee Nicole McClain, Shepherd Patrick Molinari, Madison Paige Morris, Kerigan Lace Overturf, Dave D Rohant, Jenna Faith Taylor, and Roger Gage Ward. 

Graduates who achieve Magna cum laude (GPA of 3.750 to 4.000 and a composite ACT score of 20 or better with no sub score lower than 19), Cum laude (GPA of 3.500 to 3.749 and a composite ACT score of 19 or better with no sub score lower than 19), and/or Advanced Diploma status will wear medallions during the ceremony. 

Senior class officers will direct the welcome, the Pledge of Allegiance, the introductions of Cooper and Patterson, and the closing. Officers include Michael Dylan Rich, President, Khilah Monique Gulley, Vice President, Maegan Ashley Cooper, Secretary, Rocky Ray Hughes, Jr., Treasurer and Mikayla Nicole Middleton, Reporter. 

The Ceremony will be live streamed on the Arkadelphia High School facebook page. The Colors on display will be provided by the Arkadelphia JROTC. Diplomas will be awarded by Dr. Karla Neathery, Superintendent of the Arkadelphia Public Schools, and Ms. Callie Hunley, Principal of AHS. Assisting with the diplomas will be Mr. Trent Smith, AHS Assistant Principal and Garrett Garner, AHS Dean of Students. 

Escorts for the Class of 2021 will be juniors who have earned the top grade points and include the following: Jarrett Bell, Kennedy Campbell, Audrey Cordero, Mohammad Faiq, Tate Goodrum, Colby Helms, Tucker Johnson, Landon LeVar, Lori Maxey, Nancy Miller, Hannah Moss, Colin Phillips, and Gracie Simpson.
