The Arkadelphia Badger football team begins the 2019 season Friday night at Sylvan Hills and fans who can’t make the trip to the season opener or other games during the season can watch the games again this season on ArkadelphiaBadgerTV.com or via the Mascot Media app.
The live stream is in its second year of existence and will be the sole way to keep up with the live play by play action of the Badger football team this season via broadcast. For the first time in many decades, Badger football will not be able to be heard over the local radio airwaves.
Badger fans can watch the game via their web browser at www.arkadelphiabadgertv.com/broadcastsor can download the Mascot Media app in iTunes or Google play and search for “ARKADELPHIA” in the “Search Schools” option. When watching via the web browser, the screen will be muted by default so viewers will want to make sure that the volume image is unmuted even if their computer is unmuted.
Although the absence of an over the air broadcast is a big difference, some things will remain the same in the broadcast as the long-time play by play voice of the Arkadelphia Badgers, Dr . Jeff Root, will return to the booth for the 2019 season.
Root will again be joined in the booth by Caleb Byrd and Jack Bennington for the third consecutive season.
Each week the broadcast will begin at 6:30 p.m., 30 minutes before the kickoff with the Southern Bancorp pregame show. The 30-minute show will feature an interview with Arkadelphia head coach J.R. Eldridge, a look at the previous week’s results and that week’s games as well as analysis of that week’s opponents.
The Southern Bancorp halftime show will feature statistical recaps, interviews with various representatives of the Arkadelphia Public School District and its programs and performances of the Badger Pride Marching Band when the band will be performing toward the broadcast location.
After the game, fans are invited to watch the post-game show which will feature an interview from the field with Eldridge, a game summary and look at scored from around the conference and a brief preview of next week’s game.
