At the Tuesday school board meeting, the Board of Education approved a joint recommendation from our Personnel Policy Committee (PPC) and District Administration to revise the 2025-2026 School Calendar.
This revision addresses the six days of school missed due to inclement weather between January 26 and February 2. By adjusting our daily schedule, we are pleased to announce that we will be able to complete the school year before Memorial Day.
Changes to School Hours
Beginning Monday, February 23, 2026, school days will be extended by six minutes. This extra instructional time allows us to fulfill state requirements without needing to attend school on Tuesday, May 26. The six minutes will be added to the last period of the school day.
The revised dismissal times are as follows:
Peake Elementary School: 7:50 AM – 3:16 PM
Goza Middle School: 8:00 AM – 3:21 PM
Arkadelphia High School: 8:00 AM – 3:21 PM
Impact on the Academic Calendar
Last Day of School: Friday, May 22, 2026.
Make-Up Days: The district has utilized built-in minutes, President’s Day, and Good Friday to account for previous closures.
