The recent Annual Ball was a memorable evening celebrating tradition, leadership, and community. One of the highlights of the event was a keynote address delivered by School Resource Officer Cpl. Randy Lau shared a powerful message centered on leadership, character, and service.

Drawing from more than two decades of law enforcement experience, Cpl. Lau spoke about the importance of integrity, perseverance, and the responsibility leaders have to influence those around them positively. His message emphasized that leadership is not defined by rank or title, but by the daily choices individuals make to support and uplift others.

Throughout the address, Cpl. Lau encouraged students and attendees to focus on character, accountability, and the positive impact they can have within their schools and communities.

"It was truly an honor to speak at this event," said Cpl. Lau. "Our students represent the future of our communities, and leadership begins with character, respect, and the courage to do what is right—even when no one is watching."

Cpl. Lau serves the district as a School Resource Officer, where he works daily with students and staff to promote safety, mentorship, and positive relationships between law enforcement and the school community.

The evening served as a reminder that strong leadership and positive role models play an important role in shaping the future of our students and community.

At the event, JROTC Senior McKenzie Yeagle was awarded a $500 scholarship from Mark Batson on behalf of the Batson Family. Colleen Herron and Zaylee Dinger were awarded $50 gift cards for being the top sellers during the two fundraising events.
