A group of Arkadelphia High School students recently had the opportunity to tour the Veolia facilities. Veolia is the world’s largest environmental services company and a key manufacturer right here in Clark County. Thank you to Carla Herron and Veolia for hosting our students!
Junior Clark Wingfield was recently recognized at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion for his artwork “Legacy on Pine Street." Clark's artwork was selected from students all across the state based on the theme of Arkansas History. Congratulations, Clark on being honored!
Congratulations to Freshmen English Teacher Grant Reimers for being named the Arkadelphia High School Teacher of the Year!
Mr. Reimers goes above and beyond every day. On "Dress Like a Teacher Day", some students chose to dress like him. He encourages the students in their academics but also in their extracurricular activities. One student described him this way, “I think it was laying out clear, simple ground rules day one. Your logical, yet lovable demeanor commanded the classroom more than any other teacher.” Thank you, Mr. Reimers, for all you do!

Attention Freshmen and Sophomore Parents:
Current 9th and 10th graders will be attending upcoming grade-level meetings scheduled for this Wednesday. These meetings will cover important updates regarding the new diploma pathways that will replace the current regular and advanced diploma options.
Parents are welcome to attend and learn more about the three new diploma pathways being introduced. Please note that current 11th graders will still follow the existing regular or advanced diploma options, and these changes will not apply to them.
AHS Senior High Varsity Athletes and their parents are invited to attend this evening's 2025 Southwest Auto Collection Badger All Sports Banquet. The doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the program begins at 6:00 p.m. We appreciate Southwest Auto Collection for sponsoring this event!

All Arkadelphia High School 10th grade students will have their Body Mass Index (BMI) assessed on Monday, May 12th during RTI. If students do not want to participate, a parent can write a note and bring it to school with them on Monday.

AP Physics 1 students have been studying fluids for their final unit this year. Students in Mrs. Atkinson’s class were challenged to apply their knowledge of fluid forces, buoyancy, and density to design and build a “boat” that could hold a 1kg mass for at least 30 seconds without sinking or taking on water. They were limited to using only basic household items and had a budget of $10 per group. Students did an amazing job with this project, not only having fun but also showing off all they have learned about physics!
Faith Williams and Maggie Phillips recently competed at the SkillsUSA State Conference as members of the ASU Three Rivers SkillsUSA Chapter. Faith earned a silver medal in the Nursing Assistant event. She is taking classes in the CNA Program at ASUTR. Maggie earned a bronze medal in the Health Knowledge Bowl. She is taking classes in the Health Science Program at ASUTR. AHS Students Brady Daniell and Colton Plyer also competed at the conference. Congratulations!
Monday evening, the Lady Badger Softball Team celebrated Senior Night by defeating Hope and advancing to regionals. They also honored seniors Taylor Aultman and Maddie Vance. These ladies have contributed their time and efforts to the Lady Badger Softball program, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors!

Arkadelphia High Schooler, Joslyn Cain was recognized by the AHS RtI Team with this month’s Badger Pride Award! Joslyn exemplifies the CKH (Capturing Kids' Hearts) character trait of courage. She is resilient, never letting adversity define her spirit. In the classroom, Joslyn is just as fearless. She meets academic challenges with focus and persistence, showing her peers and teachers alike what it truly means to persevere. Her work ethic, positive attitude, and unwavering commitment to growth have not gone unnoticed. Way to go, Joslyn!

Monday through Wednesday of this week, AHS student Dani Thomason had the opportunity to shadow nurses in the Emergency Department, NICU, and the Infant and Toddler Unit at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She spent a full 12-hour shift with a different nurse each day, gaining first-hand insight into the unique pace and demands of each unit. This immersive experience helped her explore the various specialties in pediatric nursing and narrow down her future career path. During her time there, Dani also learned about programs offered through the hospital, including the Student Nurse Intern program and additional job shadowing opportunities for nursing students. Following her experience, Dani shared, "It was a great opportunity, and I was able to learn a lot from this experience. I enjoyed my time at the Children's Hospital and getting to interact with the nurses and patients there. It made me confident and certain in my career choice of nursing."
Mrs. Cloninger has been working with students to provide them with real-world experiences.
