Anna-Mae Wyatt

Anna-Mae Wyatt of Arkadelphia has been named a recipient of the Parsons-Burnett Grant. The Arkansas Retired Teachers Association gives these grants each year. Their purpose is to support the further education of practicing educators in Arkansas’ public schools.

Anna-Mae is currently the Elementary Gifted and Talented Teacher in the Arkadelphia Public School District. She is a graduate of Gurdon High School and Henderson State University. She plans to use the funds to earn a Master of Education in Gifted, Creative, and Talented Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Eleven grants were awarded this year through a competitive application process. The grants are funded by contributions from members of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association (ARTA). ARTA was established in 1939-40 with 15 members. Today it has more than 11,500 members who work together to protect and improve the professional, personal, social, and economic welfare of retired (and future-retired) public school employees. For more information about the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association or the ARTA Grants Program, call 501-375-2958.

Rita Byers from ARTA was at the May 19, 2026, Arkadelphia Public School District Board meeting to present a check to Mrs. Wyatt. Congratulations!
