Facilities Update 2026: Moving Forward

On behalf of the students, staff, and the entire community, we thank everyone for their generous support for our schools. On November 18, 2025, voters in the Arkadelphia School District approved the 3.0 mill increase to fund new facilities for our high school.  The millage increase provided funds for the construction of Arkadelphia High School campus that include offices, classrooms, an auditorium, a sports arena, and a new covered practice field. When the project is completed this will provide all new facilities for our K-12 students. The process began in September 2015, when voters in the Arkadelphia School District approved the 5.75 mill increase to fund new facilities and building projects for our current and future students.  The millage increase provided funds for the construction of Goza Middle School (grades 5-8) and Peake Elementary School (grades K-4).

The following project updates are intended to allow parents, students, faculty, business leaders, and other members of our community to view and engage in the process during the upcoming months and years.  Your investment makes this progress possible!  The Arkadelphia School District has demonstrated reliable stewardship of our taxpayer dollars with the completion of the new elementary and middle school.

Arkadelphia High School

In May 2025, the Arkadelphia School District received approval for ADE Building Partnership Funding of $19 million. The Arkadelphia Board of Education approved a resolution calling for a special school millage election. On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, thanks to the support of the Arkadelphia community, a 3.0 millage increase passed.

We now look forward to fulfilling the promise of building a new, modern Arkadelphia High School facility for our students and staff. The projected groundbreaking is in the summer of 2026.

Peake Elementary School

APSD broke ground on the new Peake Elementary School on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. We received approval for ADE Building Partnership Funding in May 2022. The new Peake Elementary School building opened to students in the Fall of 2024.

The new 80,000-square-foot facility is located at 1609 Pine Street on the campus of the original Peake location.

Goza Middle School

The new Goza Middle School building opened to students in Fall 2019. The new 84,000 SF facility is blended into the existing high school site with careful consideration taken into the circulation of vehicle and student foot traffic. The multi-level floor plan is designed to make student spaces inviting and welcoming yet flexible and adaptable for future learning processes.
