Ticket sales are online for all junior and senior students, so be sure to grab yours using the link below! An AHS junior or senior can invite a sophomore to prom, so feel free to ask a friend! We’ll be giving away lots of prizes and having fun games throughout the night.

You can also make a donation to the prom fund to help make this event even better! It’s going to be a magical evening filled with fun, food, drinks, and the chance to crown our Prom King and Queen! Last week, Mrs. Robin Jones’ students answered the call to assist Dr. Patricia Wright and the Community Family Enrichment Center with salad preparations for the Merry Motown Christmas held on Friday evening. Family and Consumer Sciences and Advanced Child Care students collaborated to create just over 100 salads for the event. Seniors Moryah Mitchell and Brittany Buford stepped up to lead the process and finish ahead of schedule. We love seeing these hands-on, community-connected learning opportunities. Thank you, Mrs. Jones and students!

Arkansas Act 724 gives students in grades 9–12 new optional testing choices to support college, career, and military planning. These tests are in addition to the required ATLAS exams.
Students will attend a grade-level assembly to learn about their options and will complete a Google Form next Wednesday to make their selection.
Parents—please check the letter and slideshow we sent through email for details about each test so you can help your student choose what’s best for them.

At AHS, students took part in an exciting hands-on project in their Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) class. Under the guidance of Mrs. Robin Jones, they learned how to create cozy tie blankets, which helped them practice important skills like sewing and choosing the right fabrics. This FACS class is part of the Career and Technical Education program, which teaches students practical skills they can use in everyday life and future jobs. The students worked hard and showed great creativity, and the finished blankets and throws turned out beautifully, demonstrating their hard work and teamwork throughout the project.

Before the break, AP Physics 1 students investigated frictional forces using wooden blocks, spring scales, masses, and surfaces with varying textures. As part of this lab, students measured the normal force and frictional force for various surfaces and graphed their data to determine the coefficient of friction for each pair of surfaces. Through this hands-on investigation, students gained a deeper understanding of how friction influences motion in real-world situations.

Before the break, AP Environmental Science students had a blast using bubbles to mimic offspring in a hands-on activity about K-selected vs. r-selected species. K-selected “parents” cared for just a few fragile bubbles, while r-selected “parents” released lots of bubbles with minimal care. A fun way to explore survival strategies in nature!

We are excited to share that four AHS students have met the entry requirements for the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. If their scores place them among the top 50,000 high scorers nationwide, they will be officially recognized within the Merit Scholarship Program in September when qualifying Selection Index scores are announced. Congratulations, Henry Harrell, Hayleigh Lynn, Alaina Metcalf, and Spencer Seel!

The FASTEST way to get through the gate will be to purchase your tickets online and come to the gate with your phone open. Our gate workers will validate your ticket. If you do not purchase tickets online, you will have to purchase them from your phone at the gate with a credit card. During the playoffs, there are NO cash options available for ticketing.

In observation of Veteran’s Day, Coach Mark Coon’s classes spent a class period writing heartfelt notes for Operation Gratitude, which sends care packages to our nation’s Military and First Responders. Every Care Package includes multiple notes, letters, cards, and colorful drawings to remind those who serve that “WE CARE!” 💌

Friday is Round 1 of the 4A Playoffs! The cheerleaders will once again be selling Badger temporary tattoos for spirit day at AHS. Check out the graphic for information. Go Badgers!

AHS FCA is conducting a food drive. They will be set up inside the gate at tomorrow evening’s Badger Football game.. All items will be donated to the local Ecumenical Food Pantry. Each person who donates will be entered into a drawing for a gift basket. Thank you!
