Next Tuesday, October 22nd, AHS will host a Financial Aid Night at 5:30 p.m. in the Little Theater. There will be some great information provided to students and their families. Please make plans to attend!

We want to say thank you to the Arkansas State Police-Troop K, Arkadelphia Police Department, and the Army National Guard for their time and efforts in providing our students with an invaluable experience. Students had the opportunity to learn about the consequences of substance abuse and impaired decision-making. They participated in field sobriety tests while wearing "drunk goggles," allowing them to experience firsthand the negative effects of functioning under the influence.
This interactive and engaging session was part of our ongoing commitment to making sure students are aware of the choices they make and how those choices can impact their future.
Congratulations to Ashton Hayes and Katlin Thomas! They earned the September Students of the Month for Mrs. Easley’s English Classes. The students received a free Chicken Express Snack Pack coupon, a certificate, and a positive email home. Great job!

A group of AHS Students were able to participate in a tour of Sexton Law Firm this week. The Law Firm extended an invitation for students to visit their office. They were able to see the facility and learn about jobs and careers available in the law field. It was a great opportunity as students plan for life after high school. They were accompanied by Career Education Teacher Kristin Cloninger. We appreciate Sexton Law Firm for opening their doors for students to visit.

Happy Custodian Appreciation Day!

Congratulations to India Hale, Maddy Almand, Lizzy Morris, Brooklyn Brawley, and Ca’ron Horton for being nominated by their teachers for showing empathy to their classmates. From welcoming students into their group in Algebra to supporting a classmate during group work in World History to making students feel welcome at lunch, these students showed they know how to walk a mile in another person’s shoes!
Happy Friday!

Scarlett Hasley made this incredible quilt that she is entering in this week’s Clark County Fair. We are excited about all the student entries in a variety of categories this year. We encourage the community to make it out to the fair this week and view the student work. Congratulations students on all your accomplishments!

Mrs. Greenwich’s Algebra I classes wrapped up last week with Friday Fun. Some of her classes created wacky mad libs as they put their skills of evaluating expressions and combining like terms to use!

Some of Mrs. Tiffany Edward's students were rewarded with nice prizes for working well on their social contracts, being attentive, and having great conversations. Great job students! Hope you can get to enjoy those prizes on your long weekend.

This year, Mr. Logan Way's Biology students have already explored the fascinating properties of water, including its cohesion and adhesion, by testing how many drops of water a penny could hold. They didn’t stop there—they also experimented with adding oil and soap to see how these changes affected the behavior of the water drops on the penny. It was an engaging way to discover how different substances influenced water's properties.

Mrs. Magen Atkinson's Algebra II students were challenged during class last week to see how many students they could fit through a single piece of paper. They had to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to conquer the challenge. One class was able to fit 20 people through one piece of paper! Definitely creativity involved also!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Arkadelphia FFA Welcome to Arkadelphia Cookout. The program is off to a great start. Thank you to Patterson Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the event. The support of our community has been vital in bringing Ag Education to Arkadelphia!
