The local P.E.O. Chapter BG of Arkadelphia recently donated approximately $200 worth of feminine hygiene products to Goza Middle School to support students.
P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) is an international women’s organization dedicated to supporting and advancing educational opportunities for women. The local chapter worked with Goza Counselor Cheryl Hilser and Nurse Macy to provide these essential items for students who may need them. Pictured with Nurse Macy are Donna Hays, Gayle Wright, and Kathy Carter.

The Arkadelphia Public School District is happy to welcome Ms. Jozie Burson as the new art teacher at Goza Middle School! Jozie is a graduate of Arkadelphia High School and Ouachita Baptist University. She enters her third year in the classroom and is thrilled to return "home" to her alma mater to serve our students. Her decision to teach art was inspired by the kindness she experienced from her own AHS art teacher, Mrs. Amy Hornsby. 💙We are so glad to have her back!

Over the summer, the Arkadelphia Public School District welcomed Mr. Jacob Happy as one of our new assistant band directors. He is a woodwind specialist and a Goza lead band director. Jacob is a graduate of Lakeside High School and the University of Memphis (favorite sports team is the Grizzlies)! Jacob comes from a family of teachers and says he is excited to join the Badger crew!
We appreciate Jacob and all our band directors for their dedication to our students and for working with them through a very hot summer and into the school year. We can’t wait to see the Badger Pride Marching Band on the field!

Before students returned for the 2026-27 school year, the Special Education Department held its annual Back to School Workshop. This team is full of energy, and they can’t wait to see the incredible progress students will make with the amazing teams we have in place.

Coach Williams sees the classroom as his mission field. Having grown up in the Boys and Girls Club, he felt a calling to children’s lives and to bring the change many need to experience. He attended Crossett High School and Ouachita Baptist University, where he played football. Welcome, Coach “J.T.” Williams!

We are excited to welcome Ashley Wewers to Arkadelphia Public Schools as a second-grade teacher at Peake Elementary School. Ashley has ten years of teaching experience, with nine of those years in second grade. Ashley was a student in Arkadelphia Public Schools before her family moved to Harrison. She is a graduate of Arkansas State University. She is excited to be a Badger again and help students create amazing experiences, just as she did growing up as a Badger! Welcome, Ms. Ashley Wewers! 💙

Arkadelphia Public Schools would like to recognize Coach Brandon Helms as the new Badger Football Offensive Coordinator. Brandon began voluntarily working with the football coaching staff over the past couple of years. He joined the staff at Goza Middle School during the 2025-2026 school year. This year, his home campus is at Arkadelphia High School. Brandon is an AHS Graduate. He has been a head coach and athletic director in Louisiana. When he retired from that state, he moved back home to Arkadelphia, and we are blessed to have him here.
We look forward to seeing Badger Football in action on Tuesday evening at Glen Rose for the AAA Benefit Scrimmage. Let’s go Badgers!

We’ve had a busy week! While grades 1-12 headed back-to-school on Wednesday, our wonderful kindergarten students started their journey in smaller groups on Wednesday and Thursday. But today is the day that all of our amazing kindergarten students are here together!

Over the summer, the Arkadelphia Public School District welcomed Mr. John Bagby to the administrative team at Goza Middle School as the Assistant Principal. Mr. Bagby is a graduate of Bryant High School. He has an undergraduate degree from UA-Fayetteville and a graduate degree from UALR. He says that he is excited to be at Goza and desires to see our students growing and learning. Please help us welcome Mr. John Bagby to Arkadelphia Public Schools!

To our Arkadelphia community, we want you to know that our car rider traffic and buses will again be a consideration as you head out tomorrow morning and afternoon. We appreciate your patience, and just a reminder around our school buses: “Flashing Red. Kids Ahead.”
To our Peake car rider families, please follow the routes outlined in the attached files that explain where vehicles should line up if traffic on Caddo St. is past 16th St.
When picking up a child in the car rider line, please remember to open your Dashpass app. For more information, visit www.arkadelphiaschools.org/o/peake/documents/transportation-information-folder/16366199
When drivers enter the staging area, please select the lane (left or right) based on the direction you will turn onto Pine St. when leaving the school.
Once families are in the staging area, PLEASE follow the lead of the Peake Staff working car rider duty so that our children are safely in/out of the vehicle.
Our partners at the Arkadelphia Police Department will be on-site to assist with smoother traffic flow.
Once again, we appreciate your patience as we work through these first few weeks of school.
