February is Career and Technical Education Month. At last night’s school board meeting, AHS FBLA members Carsyn Vaughan, Sophia Clark, Brylee Russey, and Raena Wheeler gave a presentation that overviewed FBLA Chapter accomplishments and membership. They also shared information regarding all the CTE Programs at Arkadelphia High School.

Following that presentation, Junior Brylee Russey gave her 2026 Public Speaking event entry, which ended in a standing ovation from those in attendance. Thank you to these students and AHS FBLA Adviser Ashley Wesley for bringing these essential elements of our school to the Board with the utmost professionalism. We were thrilled to recognize them with the Badger Pride Award for their dedication to excellence.

AHS students recently had the opportunity to attend an interest meeting regarding online concurrent credit for core courses in the 2026-27 school year. Through our partnership with ASU Three Rivers in Malvern, students can get a head start on their degree. Tara Bratton, the Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator, met with students last week during RTI to explain the process.
Students can still enroll in Career and Technical Education programs through the ASU Three Rivers Career Center. If you missed the meeting, please see Counselor Shalonda Johnson to discuss your concurrent credit options.

On Tuesday, Peake Elementary first graders took the stage to perform the musical, Arf! The classes of Cagle, Greenwood, and Robinson performed as one group, followed by the classes of Johnson, Jones, and Tucker. The Arkadelphia Promise has announced Lyndi Greenwich as the December Teacher of the Month.
Mrs. Greenwich is an Algebra I teacher at Arkadelphia High School. She is making an impact on our students' math skills and their confidence inside and outside the classroom. Mrs. Greenwich is a leader, mentor, and great support to her colleagues, especially the math department team. The Arkadelphia Promise’s vision for the Arkadelphia Teacher of the Month program is to recognize teachers who demonstrate excellence in the classroom, a passion for student success, and an unwavering dedication to the teaching profession. Mrs. Greenwich fits all aspects of this description.

Mrs. Greenwich was presented with a cash award that was made possible by the late Janice Stanford’s remarkable generosity through a recent legacy donation to the Arkadelphia Promise Foundation.

Congratulations, Lyndi Greenwich! We appreciate your commitment to academic excellence.

This morning, the City of Arkadelphia hosted the 2026 Black History Month Honoree Recognition, celebrating local legends who have shaped our community’s past and are leading its future.

We are especially proud of our very own Goza Middle School History Teacher, Michael Ankton, for being recognized! Beyond the classroom, Mr. Ankton made history as the youngest person ever elected as a Clark County Justice of the Peace.
We also want to congratulate the other incredible honorees, including Dr. Patricia Wright, who at one time served as the district Director of Special Programs and Schools of the 21st Century. As well as the late Coach Willie Tate, a beloved Arkadelphia Badger Coach for 15 years. Thank you for your service and for being such powerful examples of leadership!
