Wednesday begins the new school year and we want to be sure that our Peake car rider families and our community are aware of the morning and afternoon traffic flow.

Please follow the outlined routes on the images attached. The second graphic explains where vehicles should stage if traffic on Caddo St. exceeds 16th St.

Our partners at the Arkadelphia Police Department will be on-site to ensure smoother traffic flow. We appreciate your patience as we work through these first few weeks of school.

On our district professional development day at OBU, Dr. Tyler Tarver presented a session on the power of AI in education to our certified staff. He offered some practical tools for AI use in the classroom to support student success. He wrapped up the high-energy presentation with a friendly competition that highlighted AHS English Teacher Beverly Slavens. She and Mr. Brown walked away with nice rewards from the activity. Tyler, thank you for coming to Arkadelphia!

There is much more to share about today, but we want to start by saying it was awesome welcoming school district employees to our 2025-26 Back-to-School Celebration held at Ouachita Baptist University. The day was full of inspiration, innovation, and preparation for the upcoming school year. Thank you to Patterson Federal Credit Union and Nicole McGough for sponsoring a wonderful breakfast prepared by the OBU Sodexo staff. It was a special day having our APSD Employees together in one room.

Starting with the 2025–2026 school year, all Arkansas public schools—including Arkadelphia—will enforce Act 122, also known as the “Bell to Bell, No Cell” law. This policy limits student use of personal electronic devices during the school day.

Under this new law, students are prohibited from possessing cell phones or other personal electronic devices during the instructional day—from the moment they are required to be on campus until they are dismissed. This policy includes lunch, recess, and all transitions during the day. The Bell to Bell, No Cell Act is designed to support a more focused and distraction-free learning environment while reinforcing student engagement and safety on campus.

Devices not allowed during the school day include cell phones, smartwatches, wireless earbuds/headphones, or other electronic communication devices.
Violations may lead to device confiscation, parent contact, and disciplinary action as outlined in the 2025–2026 Arkadelphia Public Schools Student Handbook. For more information, visit www.arkadelphiaschools.org/article/2331116

Let’s work together to protect instruction time, minimize distractions, and help our Badgers stay focused and ready to learn!
