The students were participating in FOOT (Freshmen Outdoor Orientation Trip). They were a tremendous help to get Perritt ready for Open House and the start of school! Today is Open House for Arkadelphia Public Schools. We are so excited to see our students and their families! Freshmen Orientation is being held today at 9:00a.m. at AHS. Sixth Grade Orientation will be at 4:00p.m. in the Goza Middle School cafeteria. #BadgerPride

Back-to-School Celebration this morning with all our APSD Employees. Thank you Patterson Federal Credit Union for sponsoring our breakfast. Our time together was packed with inspiration, celebration, and motivation. So great to have Darin Beckwith, Dawson Co-op Director and Arkadelphia Chamber and Alliance joining us. All APSD employees will be gathering for our Back-to-School Breakfast Celebration this morning. All buildings and offices will be closed during this time. Offices should reopen in the later part of the morning. All certified staff will remain in training for the day. Thank you!

2023-24 APSD School Meal Prices The student meal cost for the 2023-24 School Year: K-12 Breakfast: $1.90 Lunch: K-5th Grade: $2.50 6th-12 Grade: $2.70 To qualify for free or reduced-price meals, parents/guardians must complete an application for free and reduced-price meal benefits. Parents can now use an ONLINE application at www.myschoolapps.com/Home/DistrictRedirect/ARKADELPHIA?langid=1 * Families can also access a paper copy of the form if needed. IMPORTANT: For 2023-24, the Arkansas Legislature passed Act 656 which allows for families qualifying for the reduced school meal benefit to receive their lunch for free. The family may still see their benefit recognized as reduced prices in correspondence, but the student will not owe for school meals this year. One week from today is Open House for each of our schools, 4:30p.m.-6:30p.m. Additionally, AHS will host 9th Grade Orientation that morning at 9:00a.m. and Goza will host 6th Grade Orientation beginning at 4:00p.m. Letters will be sent by the end of this week for Perritt and Peake. We look forward to seeing our students!

This a reminder that everyone is invited to the Topping Out Ceremony at the new Peake Elementary School, Tuesday, August 1st. The beam will be available to sign on Peake Street at 10:30 a.m. before the ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. Peake St. will be blocked for traffic that day.
