The Arkadelphia Public School District will be onsite for instruction on Friday, February 4. All campuses and offices will be open. Buses will run their normal routes. Please be safe and dress warm.

Congratulations to the AHS FBLA Students on their performance at the District IV Competition Wednesday in Hope. Twenty-two students placed in the Top 6 of their events with nine students receiving first place. Congratulations to the students and Advisor Mrs. Ashley Wesley.

District COVID-19 Update:
Governor Asa Hutchinson announced in his press conference on Tuesday, February 1 that schools should follow new quarantine guidelines in order to balance the education and physical well-being of schools. Beginning tomorrow, February 3, contact tracing and quarantine of students will not be in effect. Any student who is currently quarantined has the option to stay home until his or her assigned return date or come back onsite beginning tomorrow. Any student or staff member who tests positive must report his or her’s positive results to the district Point of Contact. A positive case requires that the individual isolate for at least five days. Arkadelphia School District Virtual Student Shelby Harris was named 1st Grade Student of the Month by the Dawson Virtual Program for December. She was recognized at the December Board Meeting for the Dawson Education Service Cooperative and the January Board Meeting for APSD.
Senior High Badger Football was recognized at January's board meeting for their outstanding season that included a trip to the State Semifinals. Thank you for representing Arkadelphia with pride! Many players & coaches were unable to attend due to other school activities.
APSD Virtual Student Zuriel Reed-Bradford is the Dawson Virtual Program December 4th Grade Student of the Month. She was recognized at the Dec. Board Meeting of the Dawson Education Service Coop, Jan. APSD Board Meeting, and All A's Honor Roll for Arkadelphia Public Schools.

Jr. High Badger Basketball will be traveling to Nashville Thursday, January 27. The 7th Grade Girls, 8th Grade Boys, and the 9th Grade Girls and Boys will be in action. The first game of the evening will begin at 4:30 p.m. Go Badgers!

It is The Great Kindness Challenge Week and it's a great day to be a Badger!

Badger Basketball was flying high last night with their home win over Fountain Lake. The Varsity Boys remain undefeated in 4A-7 Conference play. Tonight, the Badgers travel to DeQueen. Games begin at 5 p.m. with the JV Boys; Varsity Girls and Boys games to follow. Go Big Blue!


Goza Art Students Alice Kneebone and Paris Quarles participated in the Annual Primrose Garden Club Bird Poster Contest. Alice won first place at the local and the state level for Seventh Grade. Paris won first place at the local and the state level for Sixth Grade. They both advance to the South Central Region Competition (Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas). Regan Morehead is the Goza Art Teacher. Congratulations Alice and Paris!
January is School Board Recognition Month. Arkadelphia School Board members were recognized in the January meeting by a Proclamation from Governor Asa Hutchinson and Arkadelphia Mayor Scott Byrd. Thank you to our school board for your ongoing support of our district & community.



The Arkadelphia School District would like to welcome Shalonda McCoy to the Arkadelphia High School Counseling Staff. Shalonda joins us after working at Henderson State University. Shalonda has a daughter, Liyah, who is a student at AHS. We are glad to have you Ms. McCoy!
