The Peake Elementary Kindergarten team received Badger Pride Awards at the November Arkadelphia School Board meeting. They were nominated by Principal Mary Snowden who shared that one of their team members had to take an unexpected leave and in her absence, the team has banned together to make sure instruction is still taking place in that classroom. From sharing lessons to "coaching" the substitute, they have made sure that students are being taught essential standards and that learning continues. They are including her in collaborative team meetings and making her feel as if she is truly part of the team. Our CKH Word of the Month is teamwork and our Kindergarten epitomizes the word! Kindergarten teachers, we are grateful to have you all at Peake!

Mr. Cox's Survey of Agriculture classes at AHS recently had two guest speakers. Last week, a representative from United Welding Institute in Pottsville, Arkansas spoke to students about training opportunities at the institute. Today, students heard from an 811 - One Call Arkansas speaker regarding the Homeowner Locate Request Portal. They learned that everyone, including homeowners, must contact Arkansas 811 before the start of any excavation project, no matter how large or how small, especially if you are using any type of mechanized equipment. Great information for our FFA students!

🌟✨ Celebrating Mrs. Erma Booker! ✨🌟
Mrs. Erma Booker was awarded a Badger Pride Award at the November School Board meeting. Mrs. Booker was nominated by the second-grade team of Robertson, Rodgers, and Talley at Peake Elementary School. Mrs. Booker is a foster grandparent who helps in our classrooms each day. She assists struggling students in staying on task and is a friend to those dealing with behavior issues. She loves each student. She talks, walks, and even races them at recess!
She is a perfect model of what we strive to do through The Capturing Kids’ Hearts process. We are so very thankful for Mrs. Booker’s wisdom and the positivity she brings to our team. Every day is better because of her! 💙

Peake Elementary School hosted the Arkadelphia School Board at lunch on Thursday in the beautiful new library. Students gave a presentation on the word of the month–teamwork and then engaged the Board in a teamwork activity. They did a wonderful job! Thank you to Pastor Ronnie Keener and the Peake Cafeteria for some wonderful food provided for the meal!
We are also celebrating news that Peake Elementary School has been awarded Purple Star School status. The Arkansas Purple Star School Award recognizes schools and school districts that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces.
So proud of Peake Elementary School!

A random act of kindness! Some of Mrs. Cotton's Gifted and Talented students passed out peppermints and a sweet note to parents in the car rider line this morning at Peake Elementary School in honor of World Kindness Day. Acts like this can make someone's day!
