How do you celebrate Pi Day? Our Elementary Gifted and Talented Teacher Brandi Cotton took a “Pi” in the face after her students donated $388 for the American Cancer Society! Students did the honors and enjoyed an oatmeal cream pie too. A fun Pi Day for a great cause!

It was a good morning at AHS! The new OPENGATE Metal Detector has arrived. The process for students entering the building was quicker and so much easier today. We had some excited students and staff! Thanks again to Patterson Federal Credit Union for their contribution to this purchase enhancing the process of keeping our students and staff safe. #BadgerPride

The Arkadelphia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognized 5th Grade students from Peake Elementary School in their regular meeting held Tuesday, March 12th. This year's topic centered around John Philip Sousa and the introduction of his musical march, "The Stars and Stripes Forever" performed on May 14, 1897 in Philadelphia, PA. The students were asked to imagine themselves as newspaper reporters at the event and relate the events and audience reactions of that day. Winners reading their essays to the members of the Arkadelphia Chapter were:: 1st Place - Charlie Harrell 2nd Place - Stephanie Burroughs 3rd Place - Ryker Hrabal Each winner received a certificate, monetary gift, and gift bag - presented by Terry Hagood, Vice Regent, on behalf of the Arkadelphia DAR Chapter. Brandi Cotton, Peake GT Teacher, is their faculty sponsor. It was also announced that Charlie Harrell has been selected as the State Essay Winner. He and his parents will be guests at the State Congress of the Arkansas Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution on April 20th in Little Rock. Congratulations! #BadgerPride

Perritt Primary 2nd Grade Student Ragan Allan received a Badger Pride Award at Tuesday evening’s Arkadelphia School Board meeting. She was nominated by her teacher, Amanda Harris. Mrs. Harris shared some amazing qualities about Ragan including the fact she comes to school each day ready to learn and if Mrs. Harris is not there she can count on Ragan to be helpful and honest with the substitute. She is responsible and respectful. If another student is having a bad day, Ragan is there with a hug and words of encouragement. She is an incredibly important part of Mrs. Harris’ class and the Perritt Primary School campus. Congratulations Ragan! We can’t wait to see what wonderful things the future holds for you. #BadgerPride

On Tuesday, Goza Middle School hosted the Arkadelphia Board of Education for a wonderful lunch from the cafeteria made by Chartwell Food Services. Principal Tisha Hunter and members of the Student Council gave a presentation of the great things happening at Goza. The board members also got to see some work that has been done at Goza in preparation for the 5th graders coming in the 2024-25 School Year. Great job Goza! #BadgerPride

The Arkadelphia High School JROTC Program underwent a JROTC Program of Accreditation inspection today. The evaluation included all AHS JROTC members(in-rank), Drill, and Color Guard. The AHS battalion earned a 96% rating and qualified as an Honor Unit of Distinction. Congratulations AHS JROTC! #BadgerPride

We are only two weeks away from the 2024-25 Arkadelphia Kindergarten Registration at Perritt Primary on March 25th & 26th! Parents with children 5 years old on or before August 1, it is important to bring your child to the registration along with the required paperwork. We can’t wait to meet our future Badgers! #BadgerPride

You can’t miss the performance of the Kindergarten musical, “Welcome to the Jungle!” at Perritt Primary School this evening. We have a lot going on this week in the Arkadelphia School District! On Thursday, we end the 3rd Grading Period. There is NO SCHOOL for students on Friday, March 15 so students will begin their Spring Break a little early. It is a busy week ahead! Have a great one! #BadgerPride

Arkadelphia Public Schools Students of Ms. Judith Davis gave an inspiring performance today in honor of Black History and the legacy of Claudette Colvin. Claudette is an American pioneer of the 1950s civil rights movement. Her story is not as well known as some of her peers but her story is just as impactful! Great job students! #BadgerPride

Arkadelphia Public School District is proud to commend Goza Middle School and Arkadelphia High School for achieving Purple Star School status as of March 7, 2024. Interested schools must fulfill the six required activities plus one of three optional activities. All requirements must be completed before the application is submitted to the Arkansas Department of Education. Thanks to our District Military Education Coordinator, School Military Liaisons, Principals, Parent Family and Community Engagement Facilitators, and all those who contributed behind the scenes to make this a reality. Arkadelphia Public Schools Guiding Coalition spent quality time on Tuesday with Solution Tree Coach Trish Musick reflecting on the PLC process in the district and discussing a balanced and coherent system of assessment. We are excited about the PLC work that is happening in Arkadelphia! #BadgerPride

A group of AHS Juniors and Seniors participated in the Clark County Career Expo today at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Students had the opportunity to interact with employers to learn more about their organization, current job openings, and explore diverse career paths right here in our community! #BadgerPride

AHS Juniors and Seniors got to experience a Reality Fair on Monday. Students had the chance to create a budget based on their anticipated post-graduate earnings. We are grateful to Nicole McGough, Stefanie Davis, and the AHS Family and Community Engagement (FACE) group for organizing this opportunity. What a special evening last Thursday at the Perritt Primary School Chili Supper and Art Show! We appreciate the dedication of the Perritt Primary Parent/Teacher/Student Committee to put on such an incredible event with amazing art, food, music, fellowship, and fundraising. Thank you to Randy and Lori Stewart for purchasing the one-of-a-kind art piece designed by Mrs. Amy Taylor using fingerprints of students and staff during the live auction. Through the years, the chili supper has been an event made special by the staff, parents, students, and community that support it every year! #BadgerPride
