On Wednesday, the Peake Elementary School New Edition Choir sang at the Arkansas State Capitol as part of the Music in Our Schools Month celebration. A special opportunity for the choir, which is led by Mrs. Laura Cornelius. They look and sound amazing.

Every day, in classrooms and rehearsal rooms across our school district, music educators dedicate themselves to reaching all students with life-changing musical experiences. Parents, administrators, and the wider community often see the wonderful results of music performances—but behind the scenes are months of practice, rehearsals, and most importantly, a deep learning process that makes it all possible. 🎹
A huge thank you to our dedicated music teachers:
Peake Elementary: Laura Cornelius & Ansley Webb
Goza/AHS Band: Larry Brown, Ondrea Green, & Bryan Sandoval
Goza/AHS Choir: Aaron McCain
We acknowledge and celebrate music education as an essential part of every student’s educational journey. 🎼✨

Way to go, Spencer!

AHS Art Students in Mrs. Candace Eriksson’s Class recently visited the OBU art department to see a pottery wheel demonstration by an OBU Art Student. Also, OBU Professor Carey Roberson taught AHS students how to make cyanotype prints. They used a treated light-sensitive paper to make arrangements with objects and leaves, then used UV light from the sun to expose the paper, which transformed the paper into small works of art. Thank you to the OBU Art Department for this opportunity for our students!
