A "Badger Pride" Twist
There’s holiday spirit, and then there’s Arkadelphia High School holiday spirit! 🦡🎄
Monday's contest winners definitely understood the assignment.
⭐ Mrs. McDaniel stole the show (and the staff win) by featuring some familiar faces on her sweater... who knew Coach Smith and Ms. Hunley made such great elves?
⭐ Keaton brought the holiday style to take home the student victory!
Congratulations to our winners and everyone who dressed up (including the English Department on Plaid Day)!

The holiday spirit at Peake Elementary is officially TREE-mendous! 🌲✨

Yesterday was our Ugly Sweater Contest, but these outfits were absolute works of art. 🥇 Sophia Vo took home the student win with her elves! 🥇 Ms. Sherman grabbed the staff win with a TikTok-inspired look that transforms from a garland to a wreath!

You can check out more photos of Peake students on their Facebook page. You all sleighed the competition! 🛷🎅

Goza Middle School Got into the Holiday Spirit! 🎄✨Yesterday, Goza students and staff participated in our annual (Festive) Ugly Sweater Contest. We loved seeing everyone's unique take on holiday fashion!

Congratulations to our campus winners:
Kendall Smith took home the student prize for her fantastic homemade ensemble.
Mr. Dan Dawson secured the staff win with a "vintage" look—sporting a very form-fitting sweater with a non-functional Rudolph nose.

Congrats! Thank you to all the staff and students who dressed up and made the day so festive.

Did you know that December 8-14 is #CSEdWeek?

Computer Science continues to grow in Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Education requires computer science experiences throughout grades K-12, and every high school student must earn at least one CS credit to graduate. Why? Because technology is everywhere—from our phones to our cars!

We talked with AHS Computer Science teacher, Mrs. Stefanie Davis, about why this matters.

💻Why is CS important? "Computer science teaches you how the technology you use every day actually works... When you learn computer science, you get better at solving problems, thinking creatively, and staying safe online," says Mrs. Davis.

💻 What is class like? Mrs. Davis loves connecting the curriculum to real life. "We talk about things like AI, social media, and staying safe online... I also love how we get to have fun, active conversations about tech, and I throw in some 'back in my day' stories about how much technology has changed in the last 20–30 years!"

🚀 The Future of CS at AHS: Currently, students can take Introduction to Computer Science, but steps are being made to implement a full Career Pathway for Software Development.

This week, students are working on activities from the CS Week Choice Board. Happy Computer Science Education Week, Badgers! 💻

Students and teachers are still working hard as we draw closer to the end of the first semester! Ashley Whittle’s 8th grade science students have been learning about different forms of energy, including kinetic energy, potential energy, and energy transfer. They recently conducted a lab that modeled all three using multiple trials to demonstrate and explain the Law of Conservation of Energy. They also used a variety of measurements—such as angles and distances—to explore Newton’s First Law of Motion, the effects of force and gravity, and several other concepts they are learning in class.

Spreading Joy, One Gift at a Time! 🎁💙 Yesterday, our Arkadelphia High School FBLA members took "service" to the next level. The day started at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where students delivered nearly 150 toys collected during last week's FBLA Toy Drive!

But the giving didn't stop there. Thanks to a dedicated fundraiser held by the students, members were able to fund one of their favorite traditions: the Great Kindness Tree Challenge! Teams hit the aisles to purchase specific gifts for children on the local Kindness Tree, turning their hard work into holiday joy for others. We are so proud of these young leaders.
