Brittany Hughes, Kay Dumas, and Amy Taylor were recognized in the March Arkadelphia Board of Education meeting with a Badger Pride Award. They were nominated by Peake Elementary School Principal Mary Snowden for the hard work and dedication that went into organizing the student art show held in conjunction with the Peake Chili Supper. These three, along with help from many others, spent countless hours planning, guiding, and encouraging students to bring their creative visions to life. From selecting and preparing artwork to setting up the perfect showcase, their passion and commitment ensured a meaningful and inspiring experience for all. Their efforts not only highlight student talent but also foster a deep appreciation for the arts within the community. Tomorrow, the Arkadelphia High School Quiz Bowl team will be traveling to Trumann to compete in the 4A State Tournament. On March 15, the high school team won its regional tournament. David Garrett and Bryce Martin were named to the All-Tournament team; Bryce earned the MVP. Thank you to the members and their coaches for your preparation! A Pirate’s Life for Me! You can experience the 2nd grade musical this evening at Peake Elementary School under the direction of music teachers Laura Cornelius and Ansley Webb. The classes of Debbie Robertson, Vanessa Rodgers, and Arnesha Talley perform at 5:30p.m. The classes of Becky McBride, Chelsea Serio, and Candace Williams perform at 7:00p.m. #BadgerPride

💜 Purple Up for Military Kids! 💜 April is the Month of the Military Child, and we're proud to honor the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of our military-connected students and families. Arkansas Purple Up Day is Friday, April 11th—join us by wearing PURPLE to show your support! At Arkadelphia Public Schools, we're keeping the celebration going with a Purple Up Spirit Competition across all campuses on Friday, April 18th. Let’s see which school can show the most spirit! We encourage everyone to wear purple every Friday in April as a small way to say thank you to the military families that are part of our school community. 🎉 During the April School Board agenda meeting, a local board resolution was adopted in support of the Military Child. Anabelle Davis, AHS Sophomore was nominated by Ms. Kristin Cloninger for a Badger Pride Award. She was honored in March's school board meeting. Davis exemplifies what it means to be a true Badger. She consistently shows kindness and respect to everyone around her, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the classroom. She is the first to offer help when someone is struggling and never hesitates to step up and support her peers. Her work ethic is just as impressive. Anabelle consistently goes above and beyond expectations, taking pride in every assignment and responsibility. Her actions, attitude, and dedication inspire others and reflect the values we hold close at Arkadelphia High School. Skylar Bagwell, AHS Junior, was nominated by Teacher Kristin Cloninger for a Badger Pride Award. Skylar was recognized at the March Arkadelphia Board of Education. We have been celebrating students who show outstanding CKH character traits and Skylar’s actions and attitude stand out. Mrs. “C” shared that Skylar is always so kind to everyone in class. She shows kindness by helping the other students when they need it. She’s even been known to share her lunch from home with others. We are so proud of you, Skylar! #BadgerPride

Goza 5th grade student Chandler Moss was presented a Badger Pride Award in the March School Board meeting. Chandler was nominated by Goza Assistant Principal Brian Gibson. Mr. Gibson recognized the traits of Badger Pride in Chandler when he very courageously stepped between two students who were in a verbal altercation. Chandler stood up for what is right and prevented the situation from escalating. He showed a level of integrity and a badge of CKH courage that we like all students to exhibit. Goza Student Christopher Hogan was recognized at the March Board of Education meeting with a Badger Pride Award. Christopher was nominated by Coach Jenny Coon. Coach Coon shared that Christopher shows kindness daily in the school cafeteria. His kindness is displayed by joining other students so that they do not eat alone. He is a great friend. We are so proud of your acts of kindness Chris! #BadgerPride

Arkadelphia Public School District is working with local officials to assess the transportation situation for Monday’s school day. Below are the current changes to bus routes for Monday. School officials will be talking with local law officials this afternoon, and we will pass on more updates as they come. Thank you for being so patient as we get this information to you. **Parents–if our buses cannot get to your bus stop or you are unable to get your child to school due to the effects of the storms, please call your child’s school once the school office is open for an excused absence. As of Sunday, April 6th, the following routes will be affected on Monday, April 7: -Route 14 (Manchester/Dalark) cannot run at all. -Route 1 (Joan) will pick up normal times, but may arrive a few minutes late for school because they will have to come into town through Donaldson. -Route 17 (Open Banks) will be able to run the in-town portion of the route, but will not be able to go down past the church on 3rd Street or Open Banks. -Route 13 (Okolona) will have to come into town via I-30 because the Hwy. 51/53 junction is washed out. The bus will not be able to pick-up students on Bateman Road or Shilo Road because the bridge on Bateman Road is washed out. Here’s what is planned in the Arkadelphia School District this week. Good luck to AHS and Goza FBLA Chapters who will be competing at the State Leadership Conference this week. Also, the AHS Quiz Bowl team will be competing at the 4A State Tournament on Saturday. Peake has it’s last musical of the year on Thursday with the 2nd Grade presenting “It’s A Pirate’s Life for Me.” Finally, there will be a 4A State Football Champions Pep Rally and Ring Ceremony at Badger Stadium during our 8th period on Wednesday! April 4th is School Librarian Appreciation Day! We want to share how much we appreciate our school librarians: Kaila Murphy and Griffin Pritchard, Peake Elementary School; Kathy King, Goza Middle School; and Paul Sivils, Arkadelphia High School. The AHS FFA Poultry Judging Team of Kelsey Boyles, Kaylee Diehl, Scarlett Hasley, and Amelia Price was recognized at the March Arkadelphia School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. The team placed sixth at the Southern District competition and earned the right to compete at the State FFA Career and Development Events Competition. Good luck to this group who will be traveling today to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville to compete tomorrow in their state event. We are excited about our new Agriculture Education Program under the direction of Sammy Cox and so proud of these young ladies! #BadgerPride

Celebrating Arkadelphia High School’s Aiden Wilson for his incredible display of sportsmanship and kindness! Recognized by Ms. Jill Hardin, Aiden received the Badger Pride award at this month’s school board meeting for his remarkable actions at a recent Badger Wrestling match. When facing an opponent with a disability, Aiden competed with full effort, ensuring a fair and challenging match. But what made this moment truly special was his selfless decision to allow his opponent to win—giving him the chance to showcase his skills and secure the pins. It was a proud and unforgettable moment for both wrestlers, showing that true victory isn’t just about winning—it’s about lifting others up.
