Brooklyn Sexton, a student at Peake Elementary, received a Badger Pride Award for this month. She was nominated by Ms. Nicole McGough, Vice President of Business Development at Patterson Federal Credit Union for her extraordinary display of compassion and leadership. Brooklyn noticed that some of her classmates were struggling with food insecurity — and she didn’t wait for someone else to fix it. Instead, she organized a food drive in her own neighborhood. Her efforts resulted in over 1,500 individually packaged food items, all donated to the Backpack Program in Arkadelphia, which helps ensure students have enough to eat over the weekends. Brooklyn’s selflessness, initiative, and heart for her community remind us what it truly means to be a Badger. Way to go Brooklyn! #BadgerPride
