Peake 3rd Grade Student Adelyn Jones was recognized in the Arkadelphia School Board meeting this month with a Badger Pride Award. Principal Mary Snowden nominated Adelyn for placing 2nd in the Arkansas Literacy Association's 7th Annual “Everyone’s An Author” student writing showcase. The topic of the essay was a song that has impacted her life the most. Adelyn chose to write about the song “Goodness of God” by CeCe Winans. Adelyn did an outstanding job! We hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter. We have a busy week ahead in the Arkadelphia School District. Every campus will have at least one day of ATLAS Summative Testing this week. AHS will host an Athletic Signing Day for basketball and cheer Monday at 10:30a.m. Tuesday is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day and Wednesday is Administrative Professionals Day. On Wednesday, what has become an annual event, the Art Show for our District Art Department will open at the Arkadelphia Art Center. Saturday, the AHS Quiz Bowl team will compete for the 4A State Championship! Check out the graphics for all the great things happening in the Arkadelphia Public School District this week. AHS Senior Sydney Covington was recognized at last night's School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. Sydney earned his 3rd Consecutive State Diving Championship. Congratulations to Arkadelphia High School student Camariah Bell for earning the Diamond Award presented to outstanding AE students across the state. The awards ceremony was held last month at the Arkansas State Capitol. She was accompanied by Ms. Judith Davis. Students are nominated for the Diamond Award by their teachers and administrators for displaying diligence, perseverance, sensitivity, and resiliency. The selection committee is made up of board members from the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators and members of the Arkansas Department of Education Alternative Education Unit. Camariah was also recognized at the March School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award.
