Peake 3rd Grade Student Adelyn Jones was recognized in the Arkadelphia School Board meeting this month with a Badger Pride Award. Principal Mary Snowden nominated Adelyn for placing 2nd in the Arkansas Literacy Association's 7th Annual “Everyone’s An Author” student writing showcase. The topic of the essay was a song that has impacted her life the most. Adelyn chose to write about the song “Goodness of God” by CeCe Winans. Adelyn did an outstanding job! We are so proud of her. #BadgerPride

We hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter. We have a busy week ahead in the Arkadelphia School District. Every campus will have at least one day of ATLAS Summative Testing this week. AHS will host an Athletic Signing Day for basketball and cheer Monday at 10:30a.m. Tuesday is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day and Wednesday is Administrative Professionals Day. On Wednesday, what has become an annual event, the Art Show for our District Art Department will open at the Arkadelphia Art Center. Saturday, the AHS Quiz Bowl team will compete for the 4A State Championship! Check out the graphics for all the great things happening in the Arkadelphia Public School District this week. Set a reminder! The Arkadelphia High School Quiz Bowl team is headed to the 4A State Finals one week from today! The match will be broadcast through the Arkansas PBS network at noon on Saturday, April 26th. This will be the third consecutive year the team has reached the 4A Finals Match. Arkadelphia Purple Up! for Military Kids Challenge - Friday, April 18 April is the Month of the Military Child, underscoring the important role military children play in the armed forces community. Our campuses are having a Purple Up Challenge on Friday to show their support for military children in recognizing the unique academic and social challenges children of military families face and the sacrifices they make because of their parent’s military service. Congratulations to the Arkadelphia High School Band for their First Division performance today at the ASBOA State Concert Assessment in Jonesboro. The band earned top honors with 1st Division Wind Ensemble and first place with their High Points Honor Ensemble. The band was among 17 schools competing in their classifications. Amazing job by our band and band directors! #BadgerPride

AHS Senior Sydney Covington was recognized at last night's School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. Sydney earned his 3rd Consecutive State Diving Championship. In doing so, Sydney set a new 4A-1A Men's 1-meter state diving record two years in a row. Congratulations Sydney! We are so proud of you. #BadgerPride

Today, AHS Students had the opportunity to visit the Siplast plant in Arkadelphia. The students also toured their new operation, which recently opened in Gum Springs. Siplast employees provided an informative tour of the facilities and engaged the students in the manufacturing process. Thank you to Siplast for your support of Arkadelphia High School!

Congratulations to Arkadelphia High School student Camariah Bell for earning the Diamond Award presented to outstanding AE students across the state. The awards ceremony was held last month at the Arkansas State Capitol. She was accompanied by Ms. Judith Davis. Students are nominated for the Diamond Award by their teachers and administrators for displaying diligence, perseverance, sensitivity, and resiliency. The selection committee is made up of board members from the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators and members of the Arkansas Department of Education Alternative Education Unit. Camariah was also recognized at the March School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. Thank you, Camariah, for your commitment to the program and your successful transition back to your regular high school schedule. We are proud of you! #BadgerPride

The Goza Middle School and Arkadelphia High School Choirs, led by Director Cody Kehmeier, performed the National Anthem at the Arkansas Travelers' home game at Dickey-Stephens Park last Thursday evening. Thank you, choirs, for representing our school district! #BadgerPride

Brittany Hughes, Kay Dumas, and Amy Taylor were recognized in the March Arkadelphia Board of Education meeting with a Badger Pride Award. They were nominated by Peake Elementary School Principal Mary Snowden for the hard work and dedication that went into organizing the student art show held in conjunction with the Peake Chili Supper. These three, along with help from many others, spent countless hours planning, guiding, and encouraging students to bring their creative visions to life. From selecting and preparing artwork to setting up the perfect showcase, their passion and commitment ensured a meaningful and inspiring experience for all. Their efforts not only highlight student talent but also foster a deep appreciation for the arts within the community. Tomorrow, the Arkadelphia High School Quiz Bowl team will be traveling to Trumann to compete in the 4A State Tournament. On March 15, the high school team won its regional tournament. David Garrett and Bryce Martin were named to the All-Tournament team; Bryce earned the MVP. Thank you to the members and their coaches for your preparation! Arkansas Purple Up Day is Friday, April 11th—join us by wearing PURPLE to show your support! At Arkadelphia Public Schools, we're keeping the celebration going with a Purple Up Spirit Competition across all campuses on Friday, April 18th. Let’s see which school can show the most spirit! We encourage everyone to wear purple every Friday in April as a small way to say thank you to the military families that are part of our school community. 🎉 During the April School Board agenda meeting, a local board resolution was adopted in support of the Military Child.
