Last week, a group of Peake and Goza students took part in our food service provider, SFE, Roving Chef food education program. Students were in the kitchen with an SFE chef preparing a new recipe together. They also joined an SFE Registered Dietitian to learn more about the benefits of a balanced meal and the nutrition packed into the recipe they are creating. Thanks to SFE! The students enjoyed it! A good, fun, delicious learning experience.

There is one more week left in Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated September 15-October15. Here are some of the ways Peake Elementary School has been observing:
The Peake Morning Show launch includes a quote from a famous Hispanic person and a Spanish Word of the Day such as hola, adios, por favor, gracias, and de nada (you’re welcome). ESOL Interventionist Kathy Crow says that students can be heard using the word around campus, in the car rider line, hallways, and cafeteria. In music, Mrs. Webb has been introducing Traditional Children’s Folk songs from Chile and Peru. Mrs. Cornelius has been teaching students in grades 3-4 beats and musical instrument songs using Maracas. The kids are really having fun with this!

🏛️ Goza Visits the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources! 🚌🌿🛢️
Our 7th-grade students had an incredible time exploring science, history, and hands-on learning at the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources in Smackover, Arkansas!
Students rotated through engaging activity stations — including a teacher-led scavenger hunt and hands-on projects — and enjoyed a group tour of the historic Oil Field Park. The museum staff and our teachers helped make this field trip both educational and fun.
A special thank you to Curator Charles Licciardi and the museum team for providing such a memorable, interactive experience for our students! 🙌

A BIG thank you to TTAG Church for their generosity last week! They reached out to our counselors and donated about 20 food boxes for families in our school district.
We also want to shout out the amazing help with deliveries! Huge appreciation to members of the Arkadelphia Police Department, Jodie Evans and Alvin Johnson, for delivering to Peake and AHS families, and to Cletus Knox for covering Goza.
This wonderful effort gave some of our Backpack Program families an extra boost of supplies for the weekend!

Arkadelphia Public Schools hosted the Arkansas School Board Association (ASBA) Region 10 Fall Meeting at Peake Elementary School on Thursday evening. Region 10 consists of school boards from Clark, Garland, Hot Spring, Montgomery, and Pike. The dinner meeting provided a crucial chance to connect and collaborate, featuring perspectives from local legislators and an insightful panel of regional school board members discussing real-world challenges unique to our communities. Five of our school board members attended the meeting. Zone 6 Board Representative Clark Tennyson was recognized with a Certificate of Boardsmanship for completing 25 hours of approved training.
