Badger Senior James Elgas was recognized at the recent school board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. This season, James surpassed the milestone of scoring 1000 career points, finishing with a total of 1,362 points. His career statistics include 553 rebounds and 505 assists. This year, he averaged 17.5 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds per game. James ranks 5th in Arkansas Sports History in career assists. James was also named to the All-State and All-Star Basketball teams. Thank you, James, for your contribution to Badger Basketball and the Arkadelphia School District. Peake, Goza, and AHS have been meeting today to work on our state assessment preparation and PLC process. It was a productive Professional Development Day! In Tuesday’s Arkadelphia School Board meeting, De’Shae Craig was given a Badger Scholar Award for her outstanding contributions as a school counselor at Peake. She was nominated by her principal Ms. Snowden who shared that De’Shae has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to students, providing them with the support and guidance they need to thrive both academically and personally. She has an ability to connect with students and create a safe, welcoming environment making a significant impact on the school community. De’Shae’s dedication to fostering a positive school culture and her unwavering support for students and staff exemplify the values Peake cherishes. An AHS EAST team and facilitator, Deb McMillan, participated in the 2025 EAST Conference this week in Hot Springs. Millie Babb and Sydney Covington presented an overview of this year’s AHS EAST Program projects to a group of judges. The presentation received one of the Judges' Choice Awards. Senior Lady Badger Tyriauna “TeTe” Tate was recognized at Tuesday evening’s school board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. This season, Tyriauna surpassed the milestone of scoring 1000 career points finishing with a total of 1,132 points. Her statistics include 108 3-point shots, 193 assists, 249 deflections, 277 steals, and 163 rebounds. She was also recently named to the Arkansas All-State and All-Star teams. On March 11, AHS FFA competed at the Southern District FFA competition at SAU. Students competed in four Career Development Events (CDE): Electronics, Livestock, Poultry, and Vet Science. The poultry team of Kelsey Boyles, Kaylee Diehl, Scarlett Hasley, and Amelia Price qualified to compete in the State FFA Career Development Events held on April 4 at the UA Fayetteville. Long Arkadelphia Band brag! Help us celebrate some of the accomplishments of the Arkadelphia Bands this spring! Congratulations to the Arkadelphia High School Band for earning the 2024-2025 Sweepstakes Award with all Superior ratings in Marching Band, Concert Band, and Sightreading! The band qualified for the 2025 ASBOA State Concert Assessment. Congratulations to the Goza Middle School Intermediate and Advanced Bands for earning Superior ratings on the stage and sightreading at the ASBOA Region II Concert Assessment! This afternoon, the high school band will host Spring Fling for 8th-11th grade students. The 2025 Marching Band show theme will be announced. There is a parent meeting in the cafeteria at 6:30p.m. The AHS Winter Guard competed over the weekend in their first-ever WGI Regional scoring a 75.16 receiving 4th in their round. Everyone has an opportunity to see the award-winning performance of the AHS and Goza Winter Guard on Thursday evening at 7:00p.m. in the AHS Gym. Both teams will compete on Friday at the AMAA Winter Guard State Championship at Lake Hamilton High School. So proud of our Arkadelphia Band Program! #BadgerPride

On Monday, we begin the final grading period for the 2024-2025 school year. On Friday, we have Professional Development Day for teachers–there will be NO school for students. Spring Break is March 24-28. There are a lot of activities this week including Monday’s Band Spring Fling and Thursday’s AHS and Goza Winter Guard Show for family and friends. AHS Senior Julia Greenwich was recognized in February with a Badger Pride Award. Julia was nominated by AHS Teacher Donna Jones who shares that Julia shows respect when speaking with her peers and teachers. She shows respect and kindness by helping others with their work, being attentive in class, and asking questions. Our Capturing Kids’ Hearts processes include a CKH Word of the Month. Kindergarten students did an amazing job this afternoon in their first musical at Peake Elementary School! The AHS ​​JROTC held their annual Cadet Military Ball on March 7th at The Barn at Richwoods. It was hosted by the Battalion Commander Georgia Stockton and the Battalion Staff. The guest speaker was Ms. Earnestine Hatley, who is a retired Army veteran. Ms. Hatley has worked with several community programs in Clark County and is the President of the Clark County Branch of the NAACP. #BadgerPride

Arkadelphia was representing on Wednesday at the Henderson State University Education Job Fair. Ms. Snowden and Mrs. Mays had the opportunity to meet some amazing college students who have chosen the field of education. AHS Student Elijah Garcia was given a Badger Pride Award for February. Elijah was nominated by teacher Sara Adams for demonstrating the CKH Word of the Month, respect.
