Arkadelphia Public Schools welcome Lexis Cagle to Peake Elementary as a first-grade teacher. Ms. Cagle is a graduate of Marion High School and Ouachita Baptist University. This is Ms. Cagle’s fifth year of teaching and her first with Arkadelphia. She says that she was inspired to be a teacher by the teachers she had herself. Welcome to the Badger Family! #BadgerPride

On Friday, Kate Templeton from the National Park Service spoke to 7th and 8th-grade students at Goza Middle School. Ranger Templeton has been with the U.S. National Park Service for almost five years; she has been stationed at Hot Springs National Park for the past three years. She shared a variety of jobs that are available through the Park Service and what the duties of those jobs might be. Thank you for coming! #BadgerPride

This year, Casey Braswell joined the faculty at Arkadelphia High School as the World History teacher. Mr. Braswell’s hometown is Tupelo, Mississippi where he graduated from high school. It's Homecoming Week! We can't wait to celebrate homecoming starting with Spirit Week and ending with Friday night's homecoming ceremony and Badger Football game. Peake will host a Watch D.OG.S. interest meeting on Tuesday; Wednesday is the Flu Shot Clinic. #BadgerPride

The Arkadelphia High School AP Program is excited to announce an AP Incentive! This incentive will be given to any student who scores a 3, 4, or 5 on any end-of-course Advanced Placement (College Board) Exam. The AP Incentive is meant to add quality to our existing AP program by encouraging student interest in taking AP classes and helping students see the importance of the AP Exam. We are also happy to announce that this incentive will apply to the Spring 2024 AP Exams. Any student who scores a 3, 4, or 5 on any 2024 AP Exam will be given this incentive. The amount of the incentive will be determined by how many 3-5 scores the student received on their exams. #BadgerPride

Arkadelphia Public Schools Capturing Kids’ Hearts Process Champions were involved in training on Wednesday with CKH Strategist Jamiliya McBride. Jamiliya is visiting classrooms at Goza and AHS on Thursday and Peake on Friday. We are taking it to the next level with CKH! #BadgerPride #CKH

Thank you to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. members for spending time with Goza Students during their WIN period this week. The men assisted with RTI including tutoring, intervention, and enrichment. We have been so grateful for the involvement of our universities this year! #BadgerPride

Goza sixth-grade student Landon Wells was recognized with a Badger Pride Award in the September Arkadelphia School Board meeting. Landon has shown exceptional dedication and enthusiasm by stepping up as the first student to lead Goza in the Pledge of Allegiance, share the daily announcements, and recite the Goza Mission Statement over the intercom. His willingness to take on this responsibility not only highlights his commitment to the school community but also sets a shining example of leadership and school spirit. It's Arkansas Celebrate Freedom Week in education! Coach Chandler’s Civics classes have been studying the historical foundations of U.S. constitutional principles, focusing on key legal documents from Great Britain and France. After analyzing excerpts from the Magna Carta and other early texts, students participated in an interactive debate where each group was assigned a constitutional principle, such as separation of powers. As Coach Chandler read sections of the Magna Carta, students argued whether their principle originated from the excerpt, sparking dynamic discussions and thoughtful responses about the roots of U.S. Constitutional principles. Arkadelphia Public Schools welcome Frankie Nine to Peake Elementary. Ms. Nine is a fourth-grade teacher. She graduated from Ouachita Baptist University where she was part of the Women’s Soccer team for four years. She loves inspiring students to reach their goals. Coach Eric Chambers joins the faculty at Goza Middle School this year teaching 7th Grade Science. He is also the Assistant Volleyball and Softball Coach. His hometown is Cabot. He earned degrees at Oklahoma State University and UALR. Coach Chambers already has 28 years in the public school system. We are so honored to welcome Eric Chambers to Arkadelphia Public Schools! #BadgerPride

AHS Students Luis Castro, X'Zavion Williams, and Kelton Wilson were recognized at the September Arkadelphia School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. The students were nominated by AHS Teacher Caroline Reed who noticed their demonstration of the CKH character trait of empathy by walking a new student to class when he was having a difficult day. We are proud of the impact these students had on the life of a classmate. #BadgerPride

The 2024 Arkadelphia Homecoming Court was announced at last Friday’s pep rally. The Court will be recognized during homecoming festivities on Friday, October 4th. Congratulations to these young ladies: Alli Arnold, Taylor Aultman, Millie Babb, Kelsey Boyles, De’Anna Buckley, Julia Greenwich, Xe'Nai Harper, Raygan Harris, Scarlett Hasley, Morgan Middleton, Jasolyn Nelson, Jancey Thomas, and Autumn Young. Mr. Logan Way joined the faculty at Arkadelphia High School this year as a Biology teacher. Mr. Way is a Lakeside High School and Henderson State University graduate. Mrs. Forthman’s Kindergarten class recently explored artful movement to music with streamers. The kindergarten students always work to be tuneful, artful, and beautiful in their Music class with Mrs. Cornelius.
