New dismissal times for each campus are as follows: Perritt Primary School will dismiss at 3:09 p.m. Peake Elementary School will dismiss at 3:09 p.m. Goza Middle School will dismiss at 3:19 p.m. Arkadelphia High School will dismiss at 3:19 p.m. There is NO change to the start time at any school campus. With the later dismissals, the bus routes will be 14 minutes later in the afternoon than normal. Thursday, May 23 will be the last day of school. Any future days missed will be added to the end of the calendar, beginning May 24th. Thank you

More Quiz Bowl news! The Arkadelphia 7th & 8th Grade Quiz Bowl team finished 2nd Place at Saturday’s 4A Southwest Regional Tournament! They finished behind the first-place Arkadelphia 9th Graders and ahead of third-place finishers, Fountain Lake. Members of the team from Goza Middle School are Warren Klein, Kingston Dixon, Jadyn Thompson, Hayden Darby, Annabelle Klein, Eric Barranco, Kerry Miller, Jack Copeland, Kaden Samuels, David Garrett, Benjamin Zhao, and Peter Harrell. Kaden and David both qualified for Quiz Bowl All-Stars. They are coached by Mrs. Misti Dixon. The Goza Quiz Bowl Team will compete in the state competition on February 17th. February is Black History Month! The City of Arkadelphia hosted the 2nd Annual Black History Month Celebration, “Celebrating Our Black History.” Congratulations to Arkadelphia Public Schools Board Member Dr. Kenneth G. Harris Jr. who was recognized as a part of the 2024 Class of Black History Month Honorees. Dr. Harris has served on the Arkadelphia Board of Education for the past 40 years and was the first African American to serve as president of the school board. There to celebrate with him and his family were Superintendent Nikki Thomas, current Board President Blake Bell, and the Arkadelphia High School Black History Month Committee and their sponsor, Ashley Wesley. Goza Middle School students Chase Conroy, Christopher Hogan, and Hayden Hooten along with their teacher, Jequetta Berry, attended the Economic Arkansas Stock Market Fall Awards Luncheon on Monday at the Clinton Presidential Library. The team finished in first place in the Middle School Region 2 Division. Eighteen teams from elementary, middle/jr. high, and high school were represented at the lunch; over 2,000 teams in Arkansas participated in the Stock Market Challenge. The students received a medallion, certificate, and $125 split between the team members. The team trophy is now displayed in the Goza office. Congratulations to Ms. Berry and her students on their outstanding accomplishments! #BadgerPride
