At AHS, Magen Atkinson’s Algebra II students have been working on quadratic application activities. Last week, they identified key features of a quadratic graph. Students had to describe and interpret how a quadratic equation represents the path of a football in motion. They used some footage provided by Coach Schucker of Senior Kicker Seth Molinari. What a great way to put math into motion! Mrs. Atkinson's students are truly kicking their learning up a notch!

Earlier this month, Goza 7th & 8th Grade Science Teachers Chad Floyd and Ashley Whittle attended a professional development with the Arkansas Game and Fish to start a Stream team at Goza as part of the Conservation Leadership Program. The Stream team will allow students to participate in water testing, as well as examine macroorganisms. The purpose of this team is to monitor water quality in our local community, ensuring our waterways remain safe.

The Arkadelphia Public School District Board of Education voted unanimously in August to approve a resolution seeking the public’s support for a 3.0 millage increase. With voter approval, funds would be available to replace the 52-year old high school and construct a new high school facility for grades 9-12, including a safe room, career education center, fine arts auditorium, and extracurricular areas that benefit district-wide programs.
We will host two community meetings in the AHS Little Theater on Monday, November 3rd, at 12:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
