Sydney Covington, AHS Senior, was presented a Badger Pride Award in the March School Board meeting. Sydney won the 4A-1A State Diving Championship this season. He also broke the current 4A-1A Men’s 1 Meter State Diving Record. He was nominated by Badger Swim/Dive Coaches Jennifer Hurst and Sallie Matthews. #BadgerPride

AHS 10th Grade Student Jude Manning was recognized in the March Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. Jude is part of a team mentorship program called “Beyond the Lens” taught by the professional photographer, Annie Leibovitz. Students were given the prompt, “We are…” and told to take a photo that depicts this phrase. Jude chose to portray “We are Escapist” in his digital self-portrait. His photo and artist statement were selected to be on display at Crystal Bridges Museum. Jude is a student in the Virtual Arkansas Digital Photography I class taught by Ashley White. #BadgerPride

AHS Junior Ryan Rogers was presented a Badger Pride at the Arkadelphia School Board meeting. Ryan won his 3rd Consecutive 4A Wrestling Championship. He was nominated by Coach Chris Kizer. Ryan has been invited to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Congratulations!

In the March Board of Education meeting, the Perritt Primary School Parent-Teacher Committee and the PTC President Hannah Seaton were presented with a Badger Pride Award. Mrs. Seaton and the PTC Committee were nominated by Mrs. Kimberly Ellison. Mrs. Ellison shares that Mrs. Seaton has displayed exceptional leadership qualities seamlessly blending grace and precision to ensure the success of the Perritt Chili Supper and Art Show with the community rallying behind it. She has done an outstanding job this year leading the PTC. The PTC Committee has been instrumental in enhancing the educational experiences volunteering countless hours on campus, generously sponsoring various staff and student initiatives, and planning for future needs for teachers and classrooms in the new school. We are immensely thankful for the invaluable contributions of the Perritt PTC and for their support of the Perritt students and staff on an academic and personal level. #BadgerPride

Alice Kneebone was presented a Badger Pride Award in the March Arkadelphia School Board meeting. Alice was nominated by her Art Teacher Amy Hornsby. Alice was selected to display two digital works at the Windgate Museum located on the Hendrix University campus. There were 800 entries and 87 pieces were selected for the show. Only two students had two pieces accepted and Alice was one of them. The exhibition is centered around the Solar Eclipse expected in April. Alice is a freshman at AHS. Her artwork is outstanding! #BadgerPride

Lady Badgers Bret Allison McDill and Bre Currey received a Debra McMasters Memorial Scholarship at the D-Mac Softball Tournament in Hope today. Senior Players were asked to fill out a scholarship application and submit it to a tournament committee. The applications were reviewed and a select number were chosen to receive the scholarship. Principal Tisha Hunter and the current Goza Middle School Staff welcomed the fifth-grade teachers for a preview of bringing our fifth-grade students to Goza in the 2024-25 School Year. Perritt Primary 2nd Grade Student Ragan Allan received a Badger Pride Award at Tuesday evening’s Arkadelphia School Board meeting. She was nominated by her teacher, Amanda Harris. Mrs. Harris shared some amazing qualities about Ragan including the fact she comes to school each day ready to learn and if Mrs. Harris is not there she can count on Ragan to be helpful and honest with the substitute. She is responsible and respectful. If another student is having a bad day, Ragan is there with a hug and words of encouragement. She is an incredibly important part of Mrs. Harris’ class and the Perritt Primary School campus. Congratulations Ragan! The Arkadelphia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognized 5th Grade students from Peake Elementary School in their regular meeting held Tuesday, March 12th. This year's topic centered around John Philip Sousa and the introduction of his musical march, "The Stars and Stripes Forever" performed on May 14, 1897 in Philadelphia, PA. The students were asked to imagine themselves as newspaper reporters at the event and relate the events and audience reactions of that day. Winners reading their essays to the members of the Arkadelphia Chapter were:: 1st Place - Charlie Harrell 2nd Place - Stephanie Burroughs 3rd Place - Ryker Hrabal Each winner received a certificate, monetary gift, and gift bag - presented by Terry Hagood, Vice Regent, on behalf of the Arkadelphia DAR Chapter. Brandi Cotton, Peake GT Teacher, is their faculty sponsor. It was also announced that Charlie Harrell has been selected as the State Essay Winner. He and his parents will be guests at the State Congress of the Arkansas Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution on April 20th in Little Rock. Congratulations! #BadgerPride
