This is a reminder that starting tomorrow Arkadelphia Public Schools will provide free meals to children 0 to 18 years old, regardless of income, on each of our four school campuses (Perritt, Peake, Goza, and AHS). These meals have to be eaten at the school. Heather Crocker was recognized at the May School Board meeting with a Badger Pride Award. Mrs. Crocker has been a long-term substitute in the Arkadelphia High School English Department this year as well as assisting the AHS front office staff in any way she could. She has also served as a primary volunteer for the AHS Family and Community Engagement (FACE) group as a parent. Peake 5th Grade Student Charlie Harrell received a Badger Pride Award this month at the Arkadelphia School Board meeting for receiving 1st Place in the Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest. He was recognized for the award at the Arkansas Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution in April. Perritt Primary School 2nd Grade Student Finley Denton was recognized in the May School Board Meeting with a Badger Pride Award. She was nominated by her teacher, Candace Williams, who shares that Finley is a help to all students. She has a sweet demeanor and a calmness that makes others feel seen and loved. She takes the time to make sure her classmates understand assignments and assist them if they need it. Finley has a heart of gold that shows in all she does. Mrs. Williams states that Finley has made her year as a teacher more manageable by consistently helping others on any given day; she makes the world a better place. Keep shining Finley! #BadgerPride
