The AHS Cyberpatriot Open team won the Arkansas Gold Tier Division in the U.S. Cyberpatriot competition in December. They finished 1st over the 2nd place team Ignite Professional Studies in Bentonville and 3rd Place Springdale High School.
This made them eligible to compete in the national semi-finals. The team was recognized with a Badger Pride Award at the January School Board meeting: Blakely Davis, Benjamin Dong, Sephorah Faiq, Tristin Hamilton, Timothy LeVar, and Emma Nelson. They are coached by Vince Herron and sponsored by Clair Mays.

Sophia Clark, a Goza 8th Grade Student, attended a WIN Session taught by Jequetta Berry entitled “Fun with Financial Topics.” She was encouraged to draw the picture that came to mind when she thought about the concept of Price. Her work was worthy of recognition in the Economics Arkansas Picture Econ Art Contest. She and her WIN teacher, Ms. Berry, both received a $50 Walmart gift card from Economics Arkansas which sponsored the contest. Thank you to Ms. Berry for giving students the opportunity to create and share their work. Sophia, we are so proud of you!

At this time, we plan on running all bus routes tomorrow. If road conditions change overnight, and a bus driver encounters water over the road along their route in the morning, they will not go through it. Safety is our top priority and we appreciate your understanding. Looking forward to a sunny Friday!
Perritt student Ava Lazenby was recognized at the Arkadelphia School Board meeting this week with a Badger Pride Award. Her teacher, Amy Evins, and the rest of the 1st Grade Team nominated her “because she is an extremely kind and caring student. She always goes out of her way to help others feel included. She seeks out students at recess who need a friend and she is immediately there to be supportive and friendly. Her demeanor is always kind and positive. Ava is a remarkable young girl. We are so proud of her!”

Arkadelphia Public Schools will be open tomorrow, January 25, 2024; however, we do still have some flooded areas that are not safe for our buses. Our buses will not drive through high water.
With Hwy 7 east of Arkadelphia closed again this evening, Mr. Hughes (Route 14), will not be able to provide transportation to and from school tomorrow, Thursday, January 25, 2024. There may be some areas on other routes that are also impacted.
If you cannot safely get your child to and from school, please call the school office or send a note when your child returns and they will be allowed to make up all missed work without a penalty. Safety is our top priority and we appreciate your understanding.
Congratulations to Goza Middle School 8th Grade Student Emma Riggan who received a Badger Pride Award at Tuesday night’s school board meeting. Emma’s exceptional photography has been selected for the Teen Photography Showcase at Crystal Bridges on exhibition from November 18 through January 28. Her work was hand-picked for the exhibition by the renowned photographer, Annie Leibovitz. She was nominated by her Goza Art Teacher, Regan Morehead. We are so proud of Emma!

Out of an abundance of caution, with precipitation and temps hovering around freezing for the next few hours, Arkadelphia Public Schools will be closed today. We do not want to put our staff and students on the road with the potential of worsening conditions.
We are looking forward to having all of our Badgers back on campus tomorrow. Here are some of our planned activities for this week. The Arkadelphia Board of Education meeting on Tuesday evening will be held in Dawson Building #7 on the corner of 8th and Main Streets.

Dear Badger Family,
We are hoping to be able to return to school tomorrow; however, with the forecasted freezing rain, we will be monitoring the weather closely tonight and in the early morning hours. A decision will be made by 5:30 a.m. and communicated on our website and Facebook page. Phone calls/text alerts will be initiated at 6:00 a.m.
Hopefully, we will not get the icy conditions and can get our Badgers back on campus! If we are not so lucky, stay safe!

Arkadelphia Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19th out of precaution due to inclement weather and road conditions. Once again, thank you for your patience as decisions are made regarding school closure.
Because of the deterioration of weather and road conditions this morning, Arkadelphia Public Schools will be closed today, Thursday, January 18, and utilize a snow day. Please stay safe!

The Arkadelphia School District will resume school tomorrow, Thursday, January 18th. Thank you for your patience as we evaluated road conditions this afternoon. The warmer temperatures and sunshine today have helped clear our roads for buses to run their routes in the morning. We look forward to seeing our Badgers back on campus!
Arkadelphia Public Schools will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17, due to road conditions. While the highways and main roads have improved, there are still many side streets and rural roads that have not thawed. Anything on the roads will refreeze tonight, making travel dangerous. Continue to stay safe and warm!
