Parents of Peake (POP) were recognized with a Badger Pride Award at November’s Arkadelphia Board of Education meeting. Ms. Snowden nominated POP for always being there for the Peake staff and students from providing meals during conferences to organizing fundraisers for the students. POP Officers were present to accept the award: Katie Tennyson, president; Carly Beene, vice-president; Mindy McNeal, secretary; and Shelly Hughes, treasurer. We cannot express enough how much we appreciate all our parents do for our staff and students! #BadgerPride

Coach Schucker stated that Stan “is a great resource for the players to be able to talk to and help teach life lessons. He cares about our students and has started to build good relations with them.” Stan Escalante was also recently inducted into the Greenwood School District Hall of Honor. AHS parents, students, and staff: Safety of our students and staff is the top priority of the Arkadelphia School District School Board and Administration. While metal detectors have been in use on a randomized basis for the past three-four years, we will be scanning every student, every day upon entry to Arkadelphia High School. Please plan morning arrival at school accordingly to account for the time involved in taking this safety precaution. Also, please report any potential safety threats that you may hear about. Every report is taken seriously and thoroughly investigated in cooperation with local authorities. We are thankful for our School Resource Officers, and the local police and sheriff's departments for always working with us to ensure our campuses are safe. While we do have safety protocols in place, we will continue to look for ways to improve our security measures at all campuses in our District. Thank you all for your continued support and for trusting us with your safety. Sincerely, Nikki Thomas, Superintendent
