Jason Jones and Shalonda Johnson have been meeting individually with members of the AHS Class of 2024 to discuss their college and career plans after graduation. Students received important information about the Arkadelphia Promise, ACT, completing the FAFSA, and other topics to prepare for life after high school. We hope parents will follow up with their seniors about this discussion.

In November, Mrs. Tisha Hunter stepped into the role of Goza Middle School Interim Principal. Mrs. Hunter has been serving as the Goza Assistant Principal since the 2022-23 school year. Before she joined the staff at Goza, Mrs. Hunter was the Instructional Facilitator and Dean of Students at Hope High School for 14 years. We appreciate her leadership and dedication to the Goza Greats!

AHS FBLA kicked off its annual toy drive on Monday! We hope you will grab an extra toy while Christmas shopping and support Arkansas Children’s Hospital!

AHS Students Emma Nelson and Timothy LeVar were presented a Badger Pride Award in the November Arkadelphia School Board meeting. Emma and Timothy were nominated for the award by AHS Tech Vince Herron who says that these two students have been instrumental during the first nine weeks of school in Chromebook distribution, repairing broken equipment, and troubleshooting other tech issues. Thank you Emma and Timothy for using your skills to help with technology!

Peake GT and Early Act Student Council were recognized in the November School Board meeting for volunteering their time to participate in the DeGray Lake Shoreline Cleanup. We are proud of their spirit of service in the beautification of our community. We appreciate GT Teacher Brandi Cotton and Early Act Sponsor Anna-Mae Wyatt for involving the students in this project. They were nominated by Ms. Snowden, Peake's Principal, for the Badger Pride Award.

Our school district is deeply saddened by the passing on Saturday of Goza Middle School Special Education teacher, Mr. Eduardo Ortiz. Mr. Ortiz joined the Goza faculty this school year. He was a valued member of our team and his presence and his contributions will be deeply missed.
Our condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
There will be counseling services available starting Monday for staff and students who may need additional support.

In recognition of National American Indian Heritage Month, Nancy Rucker of the Arkadelphia DAR Chapter presented two books to AHS Media Specialist, Paul Sivils, for the AHS Library. These books are now available for students. Thank you to Arkadelphia DAR for this donation.

There will be a table set up outside the main gate at the football game tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. raising funds to reach the final goal for CONE Foundation Grants!

It’s time to begin our 2023 Thanksgiving Break! This is a reminder that there will be no school next week. Students return to campus on Monday, November 27. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for our Arkadelphia Badger Family!

Thank you to Siplast of Arkadelphia for delivering close to 900 pounds of food that was collected during their recent food drive for our school food backpack program! We are so appreciative of this donation that will meet a need for many of our students and their families!

Starting Sunday during the Arkadelphia Christmas Open House, you can stop by the Art Center to see the Arkadelphia Public School Art Department Christmas tree. Students created Christmas ornaments for the tree during art class. The ornaments came together to make a festive tree that “Yule Love” to see! We have an amazing K-12 art department! If you can’t make it on Sunday, the ArtCenter hours are Tuesdays, 10:00a.m.-6:00p.m. and Wednesdays 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m.



The Arkadelphia School Board and District Administrators had lunch at Arkadelphia High School today. They had good discussions with AHS Students and enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal from Chartwells through the AHS Cafeteria. They also had a special pie delivery from FCCLA. Great to have the school board on campus!

Senior Bre Currey was awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award at a recent ceremony. A student is chosen from local school districts and recognized by our local DAR Chapter. Bre was recommended by AHS Students and Staff. The award is given to a student who demonstrates the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Congratulations Bre! #BadgerPride
