Goza Middle School welcomed Dr. Chris Jones today to speak to the 7th and 8th Grade Classes in celebration of Constitution Day and Freedom Week. Thank you Dr. Jones for meeting with our students and challenging them to engage in their civic duties!

The City Police, Fire Department, Sheriff's Office, and Farm Bureau will host a FREE Drive Thru Car Seat Safety Clinic on Wednesday, September 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Farm Bureau, 2702 Caddo Street in Arkadelphia. Several emergency vehicles will be on hand with giveaways and the Sheriff’s Crime Pup. Officials will check for the expiration dates, proper installation, and any possible damages to seats. They will also provide purchasing information on new car seats if needed. This is all FREE to the public.

Mrs. Tucker's 1st-grade class at Perritt got a special treat from their teacher last Friday for their A++ behavior in the building and effort in the classroom. Mrs. Tucker had compliments from other teachers about the good manners her students showed. Barney says, "Great job!"

The Arkansas Department of Health will provide a free flu shot clinic on the morning of October 9th for Perritt Primary School and Peake Elementary School and October 10th for Goza Middle School and Arkadelphia High School. Forms will be sent home in folders this week for Perritt and Peake students. Forms will be available in the office for students to pick up in the offices of Goza and AHS.
If you are an RN, LPN, or pharmacist and are able to volunteer on either morning, please reach out to your school nurse.

The Arkadelphia School District Guiding Coalition gathered for their August meeting. Administrators and Instructional Facilitators meet every month as a Professional Learning Community to analyze the work that is being done in PLCs at our campuses and collaborate on the continued growth of our PLC process. Each school has a Guiding Coalition that works together on the PLC process at their school.

Karli Ferguson is a new 5th-grade English and Social Studies teacher at Peake. Karli is a graduate of Conway High School and Ouachita Baptist University. Karli says she is excited about her new position and we are excited to have her in Arkadelphia. Welcome!

We are excited that the Arkadelphia K-8 Afterschool Program through Dawson begins today. Registration began on August 18th.
Before students attend, parents need to sign their child up for the program.
