The USDA and APSD will provide breakfast and lunch to all children under the age of eighteen at no cost this summer. Meals begin on Monday, June 5th at Peake, Goza, and AHS. We would like to congratulate the 2023-24 Peake Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Barbara Hesse. Ms. Hesse teaches third grade at Peake. She is an amazing teacher to her students and an incredible support to her coworkers. We would also like to announce that Barbara Hesse is this year’s Arkadelphia Public School District Teacher of the Year! Congratulations to Ms. Hesse!

Please help us celebrate the 2023-24 Perritt Primary School Teacher of the Year, Molly Tucker. Mrs. Tucker is a first-grade teacher at Perritt. She brings so much energy and joy to her classroom. Her students love her and so do we! Congratulations Molly Tucker!

Perritt 2nd Graders gave an inspired Memorial Day performance Tuesday evening. The musical paid tribute to the U.S. and Arkansas Flags. The students ended the night with a square dance called by special guest, Glenn Good. A wonderful job by our Perritt teachers and students!

If you have a child who will be five years old on or before August 1, 2023, that will attend Arkadelphia Public Schools and have not completed our kindergarten registration, Perritt will be holding an onsite registration opportunity Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 2. Perritt students and staff are getting to sign a beam today that will be a part of the new Peake Elementary School. These students will be some of the very first students to attend our new Peake when it is completed. The beam will be put in place during a topping-out ceremony that will be held this summer. A date and time for that ceremony will be announced to the public as construction progresses. It's a great day to be a Badger!

There isn't much cuter than a kindergarten musical! Our kindergarten students presented to their classmates this afternoon. This evening, we welcome all parents and guests to join us at 5:30 PM (Tuttle, Forthman, Reed, and Hardage) and 7:00 PM (D. Williams, Gierth, Howell, and Garner) for E-I-E-I-"Oops"

Congratulation to two 2023 AHS Graduates who are entering NATF in the Adult Apprenticeship program to gain their electrician license. Latonnieo Hughes has been hired by Middlebrooks Electric and Rocky Hughes has been hired by Southark Electric. We are so proud of these young men!

Goza Middle School Teacher Brandi Cotton was recognized in the May Arkadelphia School Board meeting for being named Arkansan of the Day by Craig O’Neal of THV11. At the recent Soldiers of Service Walk-a-Thon, Mrs. Cotton received the Clark County Challenge for Life award. She organized student and faculty volleyball and basketball games that raised over $1,600 for the American Cancer Society. She raised an additional $600 selling raffle tickets and sponsoring a student Walk-a-thon. Mrs. Cotton’s dedication to this cause has been inspired by the memory of her mother, Jeanette Wright. Congratulations Mrs. Cotton on being named Arkansan of the Day and thank you for leading with a heart of service. #BadgerPride
