APSD welcomes Sharonda Bell to the staff of Goza Middle School. Sharonda is a paraprofessional for Special Education. Ms. Bell has been in classrooms at Goza the past few years as a substitute. She has two children in our school district. Congratulations Sharonda!

Perritt Kindergarten had staggered start days, but now everyone is on campus. Thank you to Pastor Greg Lathem for being there again this year to greet our Perritt staff, students, and their families. The students are super excited to get to school!

We are excited to announce the addition of a third School Resource Officer (SRO) to the Arkadelphia Public School District as we continue to assess the safety of our school campuses. Officer Randy Lau will be the new SRO at Goza Middle School. SRO Jimmy Shearin moves from Goza to Perritt Primary School and Peake Elementary School. Officer Dewayne Ward will continue to serve as the SRO at Arkadelphia High School. We are grateful for our partnership with the Arkadelphia Police Department as we strive to keep our students and staff safe.



Anthony Jenkins has been hired as an assistant coach for Jr. High Badger Football and Basketball as well as a teacher at Goza Middle School. Anthony is a 2015 AHS Graduate. Congratulations Coach Jenkins! Once a BADGER, always a BADGER!

APSD and Perritt Primary School welcomes Sydney Miller as a new second grade teacher this year. This is Sydney's fifth year in education. She is an AHS Graduate. We are happy to have her back in our district as a teacher!

APSD Staff met Friday morning in the HSU Ballroom to hear from our new superintendent, board president, and community members. We are grateful to Patterson Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the breakfast for our district employees. Thank you to Nicole McGough and the staff at PFCU for your commitment to support our schools!

We look forward to welcoming students back-to-school on Wednesday! The activities have already started. Please note that the Jr. High AAA Benefit Game on Tuesday will take place at Lake Hamilton.

APSD is adding another Arkadelphia graduate to our teaching staff! Ashley Whittle is joining the Peake Elementary School Faculty as a 5th Grade Math and Science Teacher. Welcome Ashley to our Arkadelphia Public Schools' Staff!

The Arkadelphia Public School District welcomes Ryan Wilkerson as an assistant band director. He will be working with our band students at Arkadelphia High School and Goza Middle School. Ryan comes to us from Tennessee. We are so happy to have Ryan in Arkadelphia!

APSD welcomes Dr. Brett Serviss to the staff at Arkadelphia High School! Dr. Serviss comes to us from Henderson State University. His years of experience are an asset to our AHS Science Department. We are glad he has joined our Badger family!

We are cheering on the Arkadelphia Babe Ruth 14U All-Stars this weekend as they play in the 2022 Babe Ruth World Series in Williston, North Dakota! The team earned the Arkansas and Southwest Region Championships. Their first game in the series is Saturday at 11am. Go Big Blue!

Deana Miller will be teaching third grade this year at Peake Elementary School. Deana has moved to Arkadelphia from Greenwood. She is excited to be here and we are happy to have her!

Thank you to the Red River Baptist Association for providing the wonderful lunch for all our Arkadelphia School District staff today. Everyone was working hard to get ready for APSD Open House and the meal was a blessing to our staff!
