Families can apply online NOW for free or reduced-price meals by completing the application at www.myschoolapps.com/Application All students who qualify for reduced-price meals will receive free meals again this year. The Arkadelphia High School FFA is hosting its first event on Tuesday, August 6th (this is an updated day) at 6:00 p.m. in the AHS Cafeteria. AHS and Goza Students participating in the Ag Program this upcoming year as well as their families are invited to attend the event. The cookout is also open to school and community members who have supported the effort to bring the new program to Arkadelphia. Save the date! #BadgerPride

We want to recognize the Arkadelphia High School rising seniors who attended Arkansas Boys State and Girls State earlier this summer. Bryce Martin joined more than 560 men from across Arkansas to attend Boys State. He was sponsored by the American Legion. Arkansas Girls State attendees included Taylor Aultman, Millie Babb, Tamerea McClure, Morgan Middleton, and Daisy Page. Sponsors for these ladies were the Kiwanis Club of Clark County, Southern Bancorps, Lion's Club, Sunshine Service Club, and AHS Teacher Beverly Slavens. AHS 2024 Graduates Mychia Leatherwood, J’Layiah Perry, and Mychia Leatherwood served as Junior Counselors. The Arkadelphia Public School District would like to welcome Mr. Sammy Cox to the faculty of Arkadelphia High School as the instructor for our new Agricultural Education Program and adviser to Future Farmers of America (FFA). Mr. Cox comes to us with 31 years of educational experience in Arkansas and Missouri. He most recently spent 15 years in the Crossett School District. He is a graduate of Gurdon High School and Southern Arkansas University. Mr. Cox is excited to be a part of the “rebirth” of Agricultural Education in Arkadelphia which has not been offered to students since 1971. In 2024-25, Goza Middle School Eighth Grade Students can take World Agriculture; Survey of Agriculture is offered at AHS Students. Welcome to Arkadelphia, Mr. Sammy Cox! Mrs. Clark is excited about her new role having spent the last 12 years as a teacher and instructional facilitator in our district. The Governor annually invites the best and brightest seniors from across the state to the Governor’s Mansion for Scholastic Honors Day to congratulate them on their high academic performance. In the May Arkadelphia School Board meeting, members of the AHS FBLA Chapter were presented a Badger Pride Award for their outstanding performance at the 2024 Arkansas FBLA State Leadership Conference (SLC). AHS Adviser Ashley Wesley was also recognized for being named the 2024 Arkansas Outstanding Local Adviser of the Year during the SLC. The students that were recognized qualified to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference; twelve of the students will represent AHS, our District, and Arkansas at the NLC in Orlando this summer. During the School Board meeting, the AHS competition team in the Local Chapter Annual Business Report presented their project to the Board and those in attendance. This week members of the Arkadelphia Public School District Technology Department Joey Andrews, Jim Minchew, James Kladis, Clair Mays, and Goza Middle School Teacher Jequetta Berry attended the Hot Springs Technology Institute. The HSTI Conference included breakout and general sessions on the latest educational technology developments. The Opening Session featured Keynote Speaker Michael Bonner from the famed Ron Clark Academy. #BadgerPride
