Students and teachers are still working hard as we draw closer to the end of the first semester! Ashley Whittle’s 8th grade science students have been learning about different forms of energy, including kinetic energy, potential energy, and energy transfer. They recently conducted a lab that modeled all three using multiple trials to demonstrate and explain the Law of Conservation of Energy. They also used a variety of measurements—such as angles and distances—to explore Newton’s First Law of Motion, the effects of force and gravity, and several other concepts they are learning in class.

Spreading Joy, One Gift at a Time! 🎁💙 Yesterday, our Arkadelphia High School FBLA members took "service" to the next level. The day started at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where students delivered nearly 150 toys collected during last week's FBLA Toy Drive!

But the giving didn't stop there. Thanks to a dedicated fundraiser held by the students, members were able to fund one of their favorite traditions: the Great Kindness Tree Challenge! Teams hit the aisles to purchase specific gifts for children on the local Kindness Tree, turning their hard work into holiday joy for others. We are so proud of these young leaders.

National Ugly Sweater Day is coming up! Since we will be on break for the official date, we are celebrating early with a District-Wide Ugly Christmas Sweater Challenge on Monday, December 15th. Great day of planning at the annual APSD Board Retreat!
Superintendent Nikki Thomas and the Board reviewed the strategic goals and the progress we are making in the district. We also continue to move forward on plans for the new Arkadelphia High School facilities, working with the architect and construction partners, as well as the high school administration. Excited for the future of our district!

Arkadelphia High School Internship students were recognized at last month’s school board meeting for demonstrating exceptional TEAMWORK, one of our CKH Leadworthy character traits. The students collaborated to create a video for the new high school project—an effort they approached with maturity, enthusiasm, and true Badger pride. Although they will not directly benefit from a new high school, their willingness to serve reflects their strong leadership and commitment to the Arkadelphia community. We are proud of these students for their leadership, collaboration, and dedication to supporting their school and community.

Our Art Teachers at each school participated in an ornament design competition put on by the Arkansas Department of Education. A winning design from each school is now hanging on the Arkansas State Capitol Christmas tree.

Congratulations to AHS Student Amelia Price (12th), with a design of the Henderson House; Goza Student Jadan Stewart (8th), with a design of a Lake DeGray sunset; and Peake Student Kenslei Williams (4th), with a design inspired by local artist Sammy Landers. Nominated by Mrs. Kristin Cloninger, Clark Wingfield was recognized for his exceptional growth he has demonstrated this year in leadership and creativity inside and outside the classroom. He continues to excel at filmmaking and photography. Clark plays an essential role in every project in Mrs. Cloninger’s classroom and has completed several impressive community projects. Some of which have been recognized by the Chamber of Commerce and featured on local Facebook pages, including our district, athletic, and high school pages.

Today is National Special Education Day. Fifty years ago today, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) became law.

We want to express our appreciation to our staff who work daily with our special education program within our schools. This includes special education teachers and paraprofessionals who work hand-in-hand with administrators and colleagues. We would also like to give a shout-out to our district Special Education staff: Judy Talley, Special Education Coordinator; Jill Williams, Educational Examiner; and Angela Middleton, Special Education Administrative Assistant.

Badger Pride Spotlight: Kelton Wilson! 🌟 Nominated by Mrs. Kristin Cloninger. Kelton has gone above and beyond this semester, demonstrating outstanding talent, leadership, and dedication. Badger Football is headed to Elkins tonight!
The Badgers take the Elks at 7:00 p.m. in Elkins (349 N CENTER ST ELKINS, AR, 72727) in the Quarterfinal Round of the 4A Playoffs. Only 2025-26 AAA Passes are accepted for postseason events. Fans must purchase tickets online and have them validated at the gate. Be sure to have your tickets open on your phone to have them validated at the gate.

We’re proud to recognize Maria Hoffman, nominated by Mrs. Karen McClanahan, for her outstanding leadership and compassion at Peake Elementary.
