🎉♻️ Exciting News at Goza Middle School! ♻️🎉

We are proud to announce that L. M. Goza Middle School has been awarded a $3,000 School Recycling Grant from the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District!

Our campus Conservation Education Committee applied for this grant as it will help launch a paper and cardboard recycling program on campus, making Goza a greener, cleaner place for our students and community. 🌎✨ The program will officially launch in October 2025, with an initial grant disbursement of $1,500 that was presented this September.

At Goza, a School of Conservation Leadership, we believe in teaching our students the importance of conservation, stewardship, and protecting the environment for future generations. This grant makes it possible to turn that belief into action! 💪🌱

Stay tuned for updates as our recycling program gets underway. Thank you to the SWCRSWMD for investing in our students and our school community! ❤️💙

At this month’s school board meeting, we recognized Ms. Snowden’s students from Peake Elementary for living out our CKH Word of the Month: Empathy .

Susannah embodies empathy in her classroom. Ms. Snowden wrote, “Susannah is always looking out for the feelings of others. If someone is upset, she is the first to go over, check on them, and help solve their problem.”

We are so proud of Susannah for showing kindness and care toward others! #BadgerPride

UAMS MAMMOVAN ANNOUNCEMENT

So many things to celebrate today at the Kiwanis of Clark County’s 12th Annual Feeding Kids Feed Futures Lunch!

First, congratulations to Mrs. Ashley Wesley, AHS Business Teacher and FBLA Adviser, who was honored with the 2025 Kiwanis of Clark County IMPACT Award. This award represents Improving, Motivating, Partnering, Advocating, Community, and Togetherness. Very proud of Mrs. Wesley, her impact on students, and the impact FBLA is having through their community service projects.

Peake Art Teacher Amy Taylor and her art students created another masterpiece that raised funds through a live auction. A big thank you to Citizens Bank for their generous donation to the feeding program. They came out on top during the bidding!

Our Arkadelphia Public Schools Counselors, who work directly with distributing food bags to students as they head home for the weekend, were on hand for the event. We can't express enough gratitude for the Kiwanis and the many sponsors of the lunch for making financial contributions to feed our students. Thank you.

According to the United States Census Bureau, September 15 to October 15 marks the annual recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This is a time to celebrate the contributions of Americans tracing their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean.

This started as a week-long observance in 1968 under President Johnson and expanded to a month-long observance under President Reagan in 1988. This time period includes the celebration of independence for several of our neighbors to the south: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua on September 15; Mexico on September 16; Chile on September 18; and Belize on September 21.

The APSD ESOL personnel join with the rest of our district to acknowledge the contributions of Hispanic/Latino Americans and to recognize their history, journeys, and achievements. We invite you to support the opportunities to showcase the cultural influences of the Hispanic community locally.
