Anaiya Ford, Kennedy Gentry, Mychia Leatherwood, Kate Perrin, J'Layiah Perry, and Emilee Young represented AHS at Arkansas Girls State on May 28 - June 2 at Harding University in Searcy. AHS 2023 Graduate Blaise Batson was selected as a Junior Counselor this year.
Each participant of the Arkansas Girls State program is assigned a place in a mock political party, city, and county. The program offerings are designed to offer practical instruction on the duties and responsibilities both of a citizen and public officials.

Dr. Jeff Root was recognized at Tuesday’s Arkadelphia Board of Education meeting for his 16 years representing Zone 4 on our school board. Dr. Root joined the board of his high school alma mater in 2007. Though Dr. Root has resigned from his Zone 4 position, do not worry, you will still hear him on the Friday night Badger Football broadcast this fall!

Sullivan Jones and Zane Hill, AHS Class of 2024, represented Arkadelphia at the 2023 Arkansas Boys State held May 28 - June 2 at UCA in Conway. Sullivan and Zane were voted into elected office positions during the week. They were among more than 470 students from throughout the state attending. Congratulations!
