The 2025 Millage Special Election Ballot

The graphic contains the official wording of the tax proposal as it will appear on the ballot. The ballot does mention other millage numbers that are not new to this proposal.

Taxpayers will be asked to vote on the following changes:
- An overall 3.00 mill increase to the current millage rate
- Transfer 2.00 current maintenance and operation mills to debt service mills
- This will result in 5.00 new debt service mills, but only 3.00 of these mills will be new mills levied in the tax rate

If you have any questions or comments, email millage@arkadelphiaschools.org
Early voting begins on Wednesday, November 12th, at the Arkadelphia Rec Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thank you

The Arkadelphia Promise has announced the November Teacher of the Month, Mr. Michael Ankton.

Mr. Ankton is a 7th and 8th-grade Social Studies teacher at Goza Middle School. He is the Student Council Sponsor and has coordinated the effort to bring the Arkansas Game and Fish Conservation Leadership to Goza Middle School. Mr. Ankton is in his third year at Goza.

He is a 2019 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership (Building Level) at Henderson State University. He is now working on an Educational Doctorate in Rural and Diverse Educational Leadership at SAU.

Last month, the first Arkadelphia Promise Teacher of the Month recipient was named. The award was made possible by the late Janice Stanford’s remarkable generosity through a legacy donation to the Arkadelphia Promise Foundation.
Mr. Ankton was presented with a cash award in appreciation of his impact by the Arkadelphia Promise Director, Jason Jones. This award is presented monthly to an Arkadelphia educator who demonstrates excellence in the classroom, a passion for student success, and an unwavering dedication to the teaching profession.
Congratulations, Mr. Ankton!

Badger Pride Spotlight! At October's school board meeting, Ms. Rose Easley nominated Arkadelphia High’s Anayeli Chevales for showing the CKH Leadworthy trait of Empathy. During “Good Things,” Anayeli encouraged a normally quiet classmate to share and made him feel included with a simple, kind word. Small moments can make a big difference!

Way to go Anayeli!

Mrs. Cindie Escalante was recently recognized with a Badger Pride Award. She was nominated by the AHS Leadership Team. Cindie, a retired math teacher, affectionately known as “Nonna,” volunteers in her daughter Lyndi Greenwich's Algebra 1 classes three to four times each week. She brings her expert teaching skills and patient guidance to small groups, helping them fill learning gaps and build confidence in math. Thanks to Nonna’s dedication, students are not only strengthening their skills but also developing a genuine love for learning. Thank you, Cindie Escalante, for investing your time in our students!
