A Badger Pride Award was presented to Kelby Denton and Brittany Godwin in recognition of their work and the entire Print Mania staff for organizing a food drive for students at Perritt Primary School. The Arkadelphia High School Educator Rising Chapter presented to students at Peake Elementary on Wednesday. The AHS students shared lessons they had prepared on Black History and the influential figures who helped change the world. A great way to celebrate Black History Month!






Two of our coaches were recognized at Tuesday evening’s school board meeting for going above and beyond to assist our transportation department. Jimmy King, Director of Support Services expressed his appreciation to Coaches Jenny Coon and Drew Loe for stepping up and driving regular bus routes when drivers were short. This helps get our students home without big delays or combining routes. Thank you Coach Coon and Coach Loe! You are awesome!

Thursday wrapped up another successful Scholastic Book Fair at Perritt Primary School. Thank you to Perritt's Media Specialist Kaila Murphy, all the volunteers, and the parents for purchasing books for their children to read!

We want to introduce two new faces to Peake Elementary this year. Melissa Miller was hired in the fall as a paraprofessional and is now in the classroom as a Special Education teacher. Teresa Honeycutt joined Peake in January as a paraprofessional. We welcome you both to APSD!

Before the end of National School Counseling Week, we want to recognize Marvetta Farnam who works in our counseling office at AHS. Mrs. Farnam is a dedicated worker who has an open door that welcomes staff, students, and their families. Thank you Marvetta for all you do at AHS!

We are so proud of our Peake and Goza students who represented our school district in the Clark County Spelling Bee today. Congratulations to Goza Middle School student Alaina Metcalf (8th Grade) who earned first place and will compete at the state competition on March 11th. Also, congratulations to Spencer Seel (8th Grade) placing second and David Garrett (7th Grade) placing third.
