Nicole McGough was presented a Badger Pride Award at this month’s Arkadelphia Board of Education meeting. Nicole ​​is the Vice President of Business Development for Patterson Federal Credit Union. Nicole was nominated by Peake Media Specialist, Charlotte DeWitt. Mrs. DeWitt states what we all feel in our district for Nicole, “To list all the ways Nicole has helped our community and district would be impossible. Her passion for helping students and teachers is evident in the way she is so willing to work tirelessly to ensure the success of projects which have a true impact on the lives of students.” Nicole and PFCU have supported our food backpack program, Books for Badgers, meals for our staff, and much, much more. AHS Seniors Blaise Batson, Seth Campbell, and Calvin Clardy were recognized at this week's APSD Board meeting for being recipients of the National Rural and Small Town Award through College Board's National Recognition Program. To receive this award, students must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, attend high school in a rural area or small town, and meet score eligibility standards on the PSAT or AP Exams. The 2022 4A-7 District Boys Golf Champions are your Arkadelphia Badgers! Gray Manning finished tournament runner up after a sudden death playoff hole. Gray, Cash Cook, and Connor Covington earned All Conference. Steve Patterson is the 4A-7 Coach of the Year. Lady Badger Jada Jones qualified Monday for the 4A State Tournament. Great to be back at Badger Stadium Thursday night on the new AllCare Field. The 7th Grade and Jr. High Badgers took on Malvern in a tough conference battle. The Varsity Badgers have a bye this week and will travel to Nashville next Friday to start conference play.

Dawson Co-Op, in coordination with APSD, is accepting enrollment in the 1st session of the 21st Century After School Program. This is a free academic and enrichment program held for grades K-7. Enrollment is limited. Students not accepted initially will be put on a waiting list.
